Trying to decide on the right configuration for a new PC. We want the couch and want to know whether the front half of the couch will extend to the bed when the slide is in or in a no-slide model. When I asked Earl I got the standard response that the bed will only extend out if you have the slide and it is out.

Don & Patti were very kind to take some time to show us their 2551 and in fact the front half of the couch will make into the bed with the slide in.  2o2

I know things move around some between the 2552 with slide and a 2551 no-slide and 2552 no-slide, so for these three do they also allow the couch front half to make into a bed with the slide in or in the no-slide version?

Thanks!

In ours, you can lower the couch without pulling out the bottom part. If you fit length wise you could use it as a bed. Doesn't matter if the slide is in or out. If you want to use the whole bed with the bottom pulled out, the slide must be out to clear the kitchen cabinets.

I understand to put the whole couch out you need a slide and for it to be out. My question is about only putting the half of the couch out that is nearest the front of the RV, and putting that part all the way out including the footrest.

Mike,

I gather you are trying to determine if the forward half of the couch can be used as a single bed with the slideout in, or if you have a noslide couch 2551 or 2552.

Correct. I already know that you can for a 2551 with slide just asking for the other 3: 2552 with slide, 2551 and 2552 without slide.

Thanks!

I went out to my 2552 with the slide in and tried to pull out the foot rest/bottom end of the bed. Before it came all the way out it hit the euro chair. If I move the euro chair out of the way I would of been able to pull it all the way out. Then if I lowered the back/seat it would of made a single bed. I not sure where you could store the euro chair and not be in the way.

Is this what you wanted to know?

Yes, that is what I wanted to know. Thank you for checking! I figured the Eurochair could be a problem in the 2552.

I still hope to hear from 2551/2552 no slide folks just because I know things shift a bit, I believe. Without the slide I would guess the sofa shifts towards the driver's seat and not sure if this prevents the single side of the sofa from being extended completely or not.
