Magne Shades

Howdy,
I'm getting a 2351 and wondered how well Magne Shades have worked for folks.
How easy are they to take on and off, and store?
How often do you use them?
I travel all seasons, from the desert to the Mountains, in the west

Thanks,
Dave

Hi Dave,
We love the Magne Shades.  Very easy to put them on and take off with the magnet system.  They roll up easily to store.
Often don't use them when we are staying in a location for one night, but otherwise we usually put them on.  At night the inside curtain still needs to be closed to provide privacy because the Magne Shades only provide that during the daylight hours.
They do help keep the coach cool when we're parked in the hot sun.

We have the magna shades for our 2351. Use them almost every night. They do help keep the hot sun out during the day also. We don't put them up in Walmart or rest areas. . And they can be rolled up, folded up,  or just just thrown in a heap wet.

We also love the Magne shades. We put them on as part of our standard site set up. Used them continuously for that year and a half full time plus all other trips over the 3.5 years we've had the coach. They take away that "fish bowl" feeling you have when people walk past the front of the rig and happen to look in. During the day, the walkers see nothing but black screening while you see the walkers. We close the curtains as soon as the light from the inside is greater than the light outside and the see-through effect reverses. The only time we have a problem putting them on is if John jacks the front end up too much and then it is hard to reach. At 5'5" I can get them on and off fairly easily if the coach is sitting on the ground. The shades come with a fiberglass type stick that you can use to put them on and pull them off. There are pockets at the top of the windshield shade that the pole slips into so you can leverage it up if needed. We've never used the pole. It sits in the back wardrobe just in case. I can't remember if we paid extra for the case or not but we have a nice vinyl/leatherette case that the shades easily fit into. We pull the shades off (wet or dry), fold them and drop them into the case. They ride in the large outside bin ready to go back up when we stop again. No problems, no signs of wear and tear or sun damage. They work great and we're happy we spent the money on them. We bought directly from the Magne Shades people. Phoenix had a short time that they weren't selling them and we hit that gap so had to go direct. You can spend a bunch of extra money and get shades with designs or even custom photos printed on them. Ours are black.

They are expensive, but in my opinion well worth the cost.   Very easy to put up and take down.   I keep ours wound a 'swim noodle'  and in the overhead cabinet above the bed in our 2551.

They really block a lot of heat!

Thanks All,
Based on your input I have ordered a Dark Brown set to go with the Desert Sand 2351 I have ordered.

Much Appreciated,
Dave

Here're pics of our Magne Shades, exterior and interior. We loved ours.
I remember very few of the things that I’ve spent money to buy, but I remember all of the places that I’ve spent money to see.
