Phoenix Cruiser Sighting
« on: June 01, 2016, 10:38:20 am »
Just walking back down my road (Daleville)from my morning walk when lo and behold and PC passed me by heading towards Rt 10  on Daleville rd.in Cochranville. It was about 8:45 AM on June 1 when they passed.
Would love to know who they might have been.  It is not too often you see PC's but it is great to see them.

I just saw a Pc set up in Blueberry Hill rv park in Bushnell, Fl.  It looked to be 2350 full paint in nightscape I think. Looked like Ron D's.  I am new so not sure about the etiquette of approaching in a park.

I'm not sure of the etiquette in campgrounds either but have strolled past PC's repeatedly watching for human activity (I do frequent "walk abouts" when in camp anyhow so I just direct them in that direction", I've called out to say hello to see if anyone answered and once knocked on a door and left a note. I try to stay below the level of stalker. Only once was an owner not thrilled to meet and chat with me and they were having an electrical situation with potential wiring meltdown so I'm blaming it on that. At the Intervec Phoenix Travel Club Reunion in DC we spotted a cruiser that wasn't with us and after several wanders past it I left a note but not no reply so I figured anything further would be stalking and so I never met those folks.

Personally, I LOVE meeting other Phoenix owners and would be happy with a knock on the door or note letting me know where to find you. I figure the RV is my home and friends can drop in and say hi any time. Even those friends I haven't met yet. If it's bad timing I can always say so.

i assume there are many things I will adjust to living in my RV so perhaps my view will change.  But as a woman travelling alone in my RV, I certainly do not want strangers, especially male strangers showing up at my door anymore than I would have welcomed people driving by my house to just decide it would be OK to just pop in because we had the same house style.  And if I notice people stopping often to watch and see if I come out, it would also be a bit unnerving.    If I am outside (and haven't fallen asleep in my chair listening to the sounds of the wind and birds), by all means say "Hi" - I don't see that as just a PC thing but a neighborly thing no matter your camping accommodations.  When I am out exploring with the dogs, i hope to be able to engage others in conversation.  The RV is my home - my place of safety, security and privacy  - and the place where I will be trying to concentrate on my remote IS consulting - my workplace and income.  When I put myself inside it is because I want or need to be by myself.  Folks I have met and become friends with certainly are a different story than folks I have never met.
