We chose to have one color for interior and another for exterior (Sunlit inside and Cafe outside) purely for aesthetic reasons.  For us it just seemed to look better.  Both color schemes are in the brown family (don't know if they are offered anymore)

I don't think there is any downside (or upside) to any particular color except for aesthetics, except possibly how much road dirt is perceptible on the exterior with various color schemes. Cafe exterior fairs pretty well in this regard.  It can get pretty filthy before I can't stand to go another mile without a good wash.  I really like the new color schemes.

I mixed my interior colors.  It is Greystone (I liked that pattern and color of the fabrics) with Sterling leather (lighter than the greystone).  Very happy with it a year and a half later, living with it every day.

We did not custom order but have a factory built 2013 2100.  We do like the color combination they chose.   The interior color is Dusk with Maple cabinets and flooring.  The Ford dash is actually a creamy beige or light tan color which looks very nice with the wood.   The Ultraleather seating  is Dusk, a nice light grey, that matches the carpeted floorboard area.   It was very easy to accessorize as we could choose beige or grey or a combination.  The window valances are a combination of both colors.   The maple cabinets and flooring make the coach very bright.  It appears to be very similar to the hickory they are now using.

I'm not getting the poll choices so this won't show in the tally but I would opt for desert sand. We chose cherry cabinets and the light brown tones are beautiful with it. It's hard to see online but it looks like the countertops are similar to our Sunlit interior and we love the marbeling in them.
