I'm glad you made it to the Trace. We enjoyed our run down it last year and met another Phoenix owner at one of the campgrounds we stayed at. I'm guessing you camped at Rocky Spring. That's where a tornado passed over us and touched down a few miles away. We had heard the warning on the weather radio and alerted the other campers so everyone was huddled in those cinder block bathrooms, even our cat (who seriously did not like the smells in the men's room). We had massive wind and rain but the camp was in pretty good shape after it passed. As we drove out on the Trace the next day, we saw where they had already cut and moved downed trees and branches. It is a very well maintained road.

I hope you had some fall colors. It would be gorgeous driving through them. I'd also like to drive it when some of those trails are blanketed in spring wildflowers. Thanks for triggering some great memories.

You were the reason we planned the trip. Thank you for your post.  Theleaves were not colorful and it rained or was cloudy every day but we enjoyed having a beautiful highway almost entirely to ourselves.  The park had a sign along one stretch of the highway marking a huge tornado in MAy 2011.  Made us think maybe spring wouldn't be quite as much fun😃😃 :-D.  The crews kept the road beautifully even with leaves and debris in the rain.

We've driven the Trace twice, last in 2012 (pic).  Had a really great book with us that made it very interesting: http://smile.amazon.com/Traveling-Trace-Complete-Historic-Nashville/dp/1558533400/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1446900924&sr=1-1&keywords=traveling+the+trace
I remember very few of the things that I’ve spent money to buy, but I remember all of the places that I’ve spent money to see.

Ah!  That's just the book I've been looking for!  Thanks!

Spotted my first PC today while driving east on Monocacy Blvd  The PC, probably a 2551 or 2552 was westbound heading for RT 15.  Fun to see a PC around Frederick MD.

Probably Tom Hanlon. We're in Frederick but our baby is in storage right up the road. We drove that route last week on the way to emissions test station. They don't test over 25 feet or so but you have to take it in for them to look at first. We now have a waiver for life... or until we change our legal address.

We'd love to meet another Phoenix owner. If you feel the same, send me a personal message and we'll work out a time and place.

Not me. Mine has been winterized and is sitting next to the house waiting for spring.

Include us in your get together plans. Both of you already have my email address.

Passed a PC this past Sunday just east of the Ohio - Indiana border on I-70 headed west. It was around 8:00 am. Looked like a newer 2551/2. We weren't in ours  :'(  Wondered who it was as we have only seen a handful while out and about.

Phoenix Cruiser sightings

Today there are three Phoenix Cruisers here in this small 30 site campground at W.P. Franklin Corps of Engineers  in Florida and one is camped right next to us.
We are from Ohio, Barry & Sue from MI and MisterH from FL.
