I didn't do this, but now wish I had. We have the 2007 29' with twin slides. It comes with an inbuilt coffee maker attached to the cupboard door under the sink. There is quite an extensive amount of Corian material used to frame in the coffee maker, and overall there is a lot of weight hanging off the door.

While driving up the I5 yesterday (the climb from LA up to the Grapevine), we stuck to the inside lane, which was heavily rutted. At one point the cupboard door swung open, and then immediately disintegrated from the weight of the coffeemaker and the juddering - the hinges themselves didn't detach, but the joins in the door simply came apart.

So now I am looking for a replacement cupboard door in cherry, will call the factory tomorrow to see what they have. Others may want to either remove the coffee maker, or devise some latching solution that would absolutely prevent the door from opening.

I also have the same model, and one of the first things I did was to remove the coffee maker from the cupboard.
Plenty of room in the cupboard for more useful items. It would appear I was lucky and avoided your problem.

I also removed the Coffee maker in favor of a trash bin. Probably a good thing too. I-80 between Tahoe and Reno is absolutely horrible and it shook everything terribly.

It sounds like I’m a long way from you but if you have a problem getting a replacement; you may want to consider sending me the door. I'm reasonably certain I can repair it (I have a complete wood-working shop and am passably proficient at this stuff).

We took the coffee maker out the first day we had the motor home.  First, it was too big for our needs and, second, it took up valuable space in a small kitchen.  We have the 2551 w/slide.  We found a garbage can that fit perfectly in the space (where else are you going to put it if you keep that coffee maker there?).  We built a great pantry in one of the closets overhanging one of the twin beds and now have a smaller 4 cup coffee maker there along with pots, pans, an electric skillet, cutting boards, etc.

We have a 2007 with the coffee maker and "LOVE" it in the door, just the way it is.  We do have extra storage from the slide-free dinette so the storage under the sink is best suited for the coffee maker.  I had a cup of coffee from it just this morning.  We used it nearly every day, often while on the open road.  We got back today from a 3 week trip in the Canadian Rockies.

Forget their coffee maker.
It takes lots of power to heat coffee.
Buy a 8 cup perculator and prepare the coffee on your stove using propane. Much more efficient if you boondock much.

If you remove your coffee maker & mounting hardware, don't throw it away, put it on ebay.  I'm sure other non-PC owners would be very interested.  Maybe even I would buy it as a backup for when ours gets worn out.

    We did not get the PC coffee maker. I told them to keep it as I wanted the space for a trash can. Instead my wife and I went to Sears and bought a 5 cup coffee maker for $25. She stores it in the cabinet over the drivers seat during the day. There is plent of height for it or maybe even a larger coffee maker. At night she sits it on the counter over the stove, under the hood ready for the morning. Seem to work for us and have not had any problems with it yet. Five cups is great as I don't have to wait as long for that first cup and it doesn't take that long to brew the second pot when needed.
