Hello All:
Well I took my tire cover off yesterday to check out the spare. Now I can't get the cover back on. It is like the lever is too short to lock into the slot. Is there a special way to put this thing back on?

Try turning the exterior handle counter-clockwise to run the bar down the thread.
Then line the bar up with the receiver and turn the handle clockwise until it gets tight.
Finally, lock the handle in place with the key.
Hope this helps.

Well, I gave it one more try today. My son and wife pushed hard on the center of the cover while I turned the handle. That seemed to give it enough clearance to have the lever click into place. Thanks for the info.

On our 2007, we cannot lock the spare tire cover with the handle in one of the two 180 degree positions. We have to screw tight the handle, then unscrew it 180 degress to be able to turn the key to lock it.
