Length of 2450. Bumper to bumper
« on: September 17, 2014, 04:16:28 pm »
Hi.    Does anyone know the actually length of the 2450 model. I know it's supposedly 1 foot longer than the 2350 but in previous threads I see where there is questions on length from what the factory says and real world on some units. :helptymote

Thanks. Carol,    How do you like the 2450?  Do you have the Ford chassis,  I see in the brochure that both front sits in the sprinter turn was wondering if Ford is the same. tymote.  Tim

Hello Tim,

I am not a very exacting measurerer, but using a yardstick type of contraption I came up with 24 feet 11 inches bumper to bumper, and then the spare tire sticks out a few inches beyond that, above the rear bumper.
I am loving my 2450 and am really happy they came up with the extra foot before I put in my order, as the extra storage space is great.  I do have the ford chassis, and only the passenger seat swivels.  In my layout, that is fine, though, since I have the dinette behind the driver's seat so it would do no good to swivel anyhow.  The extra foot, by the way, is between the axles, making the wheelbase 170 inches, vs. the 158 inches of the 2350.  I have not driven anything else, but it should count for something that I am a novice, and I am finding the handling of the rig to be totally without issue and a lovely ride!

Tim

We have a 2012 2551 (Ford Chassis) and had the factory install the swivel option on the driver's seat.  The only requirement was to have a slide and no power seat.

Here is a picture of our seats.  It is nice to have the extra  seat and a little more open space.

Tim,

I think a 2450 is a great coach, I just wanted you to see that you can swivel both chairs in a Ford chassis.  Our 2551 is built on a Ford.

We took delivery of a 2015 2450 a month ago. I just finished installing super springs on the rear suspension and am very pleased with the results. We added them to our previous Motorhome a 24' Born Free. The Super Springs raised the back end 1 3/4". Prior to installing them our back end was slightly lower than the front end, our Coach is built on the E 350.
We experienced a much smoother ride on our Born Free and expect an improved ride on our Phoenix as well.............we shall see.

We are VERY happy with our Coach and the folks at Phoenix. "We have officially switched camps from Born Free to Phoenix"  :)

I would like to post a few pictures of our Coach in the near future.

Dave

Tim,
I am getting 11 to 12 mpg when I behave and stick to around 55 mph.
Barry-Sue,
Your front area looks great with both chairs swiveled like that!
Dave,
Born Free is a really nice outfit.  That's quite a complement to PC that you converted!

Sure, are you looking for a picture of the actual super spring or the coach?  I measured our Phoenix bumper to bumper it measures exactly 25'.
