Help! Fuse for Sanicon?

Help! Fuse for Sanicon?

Help! We are 400 miles from home on the first day a 3-week trip and the Sanicon is dead. Where is the fuse to it? There is no power to the motor but the electric tank valves work as well as the light. Any help is greatly appreciated.

You might need to call the PC plant to find out where the fuse is. Meanwhile just use the gravity discharge. All you need to to do is remove the cap at the rear (left side) of the coach attach a hose and open the valve right before the cap. This allows you to bypass the sanicon as long as the valves are ok for the black and gray tanks. If those valves are not working you will have to climb underneath to open each manually. If you do not have a hose to attach to the gravity discharge you might have to borrow one or buy one. We always carry one in the event of such a situation. You can attempt to turn the sanicon impeller manually from the outside on the end with a flat head screwdriver in the event that something is stuck in there and blocking it from turning. Good Luck!

Thank you. Afraid there's no bypass on our 2007 model so looks like we need to remove the unit.

I was trying to dump my tanks after about 900 miles on the road and the pump up and quit on me.  I turned it off and could not get it to start again.  I waited until I got home the next day to see what I could do about it.  I checked all the fuses and they were good so I took a screwdriver and moved the impeller on the pump back and forth until it freed up and would turn continuously in a clockwise direction.  That fixed the problem and the pump ran fine on my next attempt to dump.  Something was stuck and it just shut the pump off rather than burning it up.  Oh, the screw is on the end of the pump facing the street, very easy.

Bergy,

This annoying situation turned up our second summer trip.  It was so common that i carried both a flat blade and phillips screwdriver in the Sanicon compartment.  At the end of our third summer trip this year I swapped them for a single double-end offset screwdriver.

I remove my SaniCon pump when I winterize, if I recall the pump fuse is an inline fuse just above the plug connection.
