Entry Door Weather Stripping

Need some advice on installing the weather stripping around the entry door.  We had some rust starting behind the weather stripping so we removed the weather stripping, cleaned off the glue, eliminated the source of the rust and now must install new weather stripping.  We purchased the new weather stripping from PC but was wondering if someone can answer a  few questions for us.  We want to replace the weather stripping exactly how PC did it originally (part of ours had been replaced by PC a couple of years ago so we are not sure how it was originally put on).  Our main goal is to prevent any (or as much as possible) water intrusion.  My questions are:
     1)  Is your weather stripping all in one piece
     2)  If it is in once piece at what part of the door frame do the two ends butt up to each other
     3)  If it is not in one piece, how many pieces are used to trim the frame (when we took ours off we had three sections of weather stripping - one started on the bottom left corner, another started at the top right corner and the third was just along the bottom overlapping the two sides.)

Our entry door weather stripping is put on in four pieces--two horizontal and two vertical.

The vertical strip at the hinge-side of the door is cut square at both the top and the bottom, so it runs as one straight piece.

The top and bottom horizontal pieces butt up against the vertical hinge-side strip and and are cut at a 45 degree angle where they meet up with the vertical strip on the lock side of the door.

The vertical strip on the lock side of the door is cut at a 45 degree angle at each end to join into the top and bottom horizontal strips.

Hope this explains the installation.

We've not had any leaks there during our short ownership of our PC.

On our 2910, we have 2 strips. One on the bottom and the other 1 continuous strip butting the bottom. The arc at the top corners have pulled away. I used double sided tape to repair thr corners. I've also used double sided tape to reseal the bottom strip. I'm wondering about removing the bottom strip
and adding a strip to the bottom of the door. This would stop the abuse to the bottom seal from foot traffic.

Three strips, 1 along the bottom, 1 up the hing side, and 1 across the top and down the lock side.
Looks like you can do whatever yor feel like.

On our 2013 2552, we have 4 strips.  On the opening side, the corners are mitered and cut square on the hinge side.
