Place to stow your stuff beside twin beds?
« on: December 26, 2012, 09:27:49 pm »
First, Merry Christmas to all, and (almost) Happy New Year.

In looking at the twin bed floor plans (we are focusing on the 3100), I'm curious what folks do with the typical stuff you would put on a night stand, in the absence of....a night stand.  A book, reading glasses (yes, need them already), a class of water, that sort of thing? Has anyone installed something on the side of the shirt closet? Or maybe even a narrow shelf over the "headboard" of the bed?

It's also curious that it looks like PC didn't install reading lamps over each twin bed in 2011 or 2012, but looks like the new ones have them. I'm guessing that is something that could be added fairly easily if we find a used unit.

Thanks!

I went to Home Depot and bought two small shelves and asked the factory to install them over the beds. They are about one foot over the headboard and works very well for my clock, a square box of Kleenex, a small led flashlight and my glasses. I leave everything on the shelf while traveling, except the glasses, as there is a one inch high lip on the shelf. The color is very close to the color of the cherry walls in the PC.
Here is a link to the shelf: http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1v/R-100654503/h_d2/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10053&langId=-1&keyword=wall+shelf&storeId=10051

Good question Mike, while not too elaborate, we use Velcro to attach the tv controls in convenient, read reachable, spots just above the floor near the head end of the two beds.  Too much hook & loop makes a loud enough ripzip which may wake spousal unit   :-D  heartshower I mounted two LED reading lights on bulkhead over pillows.  Linda leaves her glass of water on the sink.  The shelf idea that was just posted looks cool.
Enjoy the soon to be PC

I love the twin bed layout ( not that I don't enjoy sleeping with my wife ).  I am an early riser and my wife enjoys sleeping in on some mornings.  I can get up read the PC Forum, as I am now, and catch up on the news and sports.  All other things can be worked out.  I hang my glasses close by and we have velcro on our clock and tv remote.

We installed a small night table next to our twin bed.  It works great to hold the clock, kleenix, glasses.

We did a similar thing as Barry and Sue in our 2551. Now that we have the 2910 we had PC put a nightstand between the beds. The top is the same corian as used throughout the coach.
