Pads for slide out rollers

     With the weight of the slide and the rollers needed for the mechanism we noticed that there were two very small indentations on the vinyl flooring.  After the slide is out for a little while they do go away but we were worried that they might just make a permanent dent in the vinyl flooring. 
     We talked to Kermit the other day and asked him if it would be okay to place something under those rollers when we bring the slide in to prevent any indentations on the floor.  He said that it would be a good idea and he would recommend it.  He said not to use anything more than 1/8 inch thick.
     We had a couple of pieces of the vinyl flooring that PC uses so we cut out two small pads and now when bringing the slide in we place them on the floor so that the rollers rest on them and not directly on the PC flooring.  It is easy to do, works great and now the weight of the slide is on the pads and not directly on the floor.  When we put the slide out we found that there is no longer any indentation directly on the floor but only on the pads that we are placing under the rollers.

We noticed the indentations too.  While at the factory, they cut some 8” x 8” Plexiglas squares that we use.  They’re 1/8” thick.

Had to do that in a carpeted rig too, except there were tracks, then indentations where the slide stopped , and on one side black residue from the rollers I guess.

I wonder if my old style window shade tention reinforcements would be an alternate choice.  They are designed for high-impact, marketed to protect walls from door knobs.  They even have tapered edges for the rollers to ride up.  Maybe they are ideal, and then maybe a flop.  I don't have a slide to test them on.

These would not work because the rollers themselves are much longer and these would not span the entire roller.  They are also not large enough to allow for any "oops" factor if you missed the roller and they got caught underneath the refrigerator.  Could pose a very big problem by getting caught in the slide mechanism.
I would guess that PC cut the pads to be about 8 X 8 so as accommodate the entire roller and also make sure that the pad is not caught in the mechanism.
