General Discussion / Re: 2552 In-Slide Dinette Dimensions
« on: January 30, 2022, 05:42:57 pm »
Holly, Ron and John - thank you so much for your replies!

Ron, we appreciate your perspective and you make some excellent points on slide vs no slide.  However, we will be full-timing and we feel, as Holly mentioned, that the extra space will be important to us.

John, thank you for the dimensions of your dinette.  Does anyone know how close those measurements are to the standard 2552 dinette?  Or if the dinette in the 3100 is the same size as the one in the 2552?

Again, thank you all...we are not new to RVing, but we are new to Phoenix Cruisers and we appreciate any help we can get. tymote

General Discussion / 2552 In-Slide Dinette Dimensions
« on: January 28, 2022, 03:54:00 pm »
We're hoping someone can help us with the dimensions of the in-slide dinette that had been an option in the 2552.  We're specifically interested in the dimensions of the table itself and in how much space there is from the edge of the table to the seat back.  Also, does anyone know if the dinette in the 3100 has the same dimensions as the one that was an option in the 2552?  Many thanks in advance!

Thank you both for your replies...that makes sense to us now that it's the wheel well.  And we agree that it's worth it for the benefits you mentioned, Ron.

We're not PC owners (yet), so there's much that we don't know about them (but we're learning).  One thing that we are very curious about are the carpeted boxes are that we are seeing on the floor in the photos of the following PCs:  2100, 2351, 2400, 3100.  Do they have something to do with the slide on those particular coaches?

Thanks in advance for furthering our PC knowledge!

I believe this is the YouTube video that has been referenced that features Tina at the 2021 Hershey RV Show and her walk-through of a 2552: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3N-_E0RYnqg

Roughly, where are you?  Some dealers are not nationwide.

-Dan

Dan, we are full-timers and so are fortunately pretty well positioned to go where we might need to go to buy a PC, new or used.  And according to the PC website, these are their current "factory outlets":  8 Campers Inn locations (in the eastern and southern parts of the U.S.), 6 La Mesa RV locations (in the West and Southwest), Midway RV in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Rec Van in Fremont, California (although from what I can tell, most of the vehicles on their website are actually in other locations).

The current estimate on build orders is 8-10 months which also is a factor in what dealer we would choose.  We'd prefer to not pick up a new PC in the middle of winter in a state that can get severe winter weather.

Thank you all so much for your posts.  And Chuck, we especially appreciated your comments regarding buying previously owned PCs.  We are definitely open to that.

As we find ourselves getting closer and closer to buying a Phoenix Cruiser, we are wondering if any of you who have ordered through the PC dealers would share your experiences with different dealers...ones you'd recommend and ones you would not recommend.  Thank you so much for your help!

General Discussion / Re: OCCC for 2910D and 2910T
« on: November 21, 2021, 01:44:26 pm »
Ron, thank you again for your insights and your suggestions.  Even though we're not new to RVing, we are very new to the Phoenix Cruiser world, so we truly appreciate your experience and your input.

So if we're understanding correctly, we could get the two slide 2910D but with a dinette in lieu of the two Euro chairs and the small table between them?

And the factory is still willing to do some customization even with the ownership change in 2017 and the return to selling through authorized dealers beginning in 2019?  If so, we are very encouraged!

Ron, you asked for an evaluation of our visit to La Mesa RV to see the PC 2552.  We were very impressed with the quality of the materials and the workmanship on the 2552, even more so after we then viewed an Entegra Odyssey and a Dynamax Isata.  Those two coaches were acceptable, but the 2552 just felt a step above.  We particularly thought the cupboards and drawers on the 2552 were more solid.

Since Art is 6' tall, we were concerned that he might feel cramped inside a PC, but he felt there was no problem, even after standing in the coach for a considerable amount of time.  And we really like the lower profile of the PC, especially compared to the Isata.  In full disclosure, one of the reasons we're wanting to downsize is to get a coach that I'm more comfortable driving and I think a PC would definitely fit the bill.

There were some features of the Entegra Odyssey 26M we really liked (the galley, the Murphy bed, the large dinette), but we were alarmed to see how very low and far back the dump valves are.  It seems that could be a disaster just waiting to happen and it felt like a deal breaker to us.

The storage in the Isata 4 25FWF was impressive, but the materials didn't seem to be the same high quality as the PC 2552.  And there's a pretty significant step up into the bed and bath area and that also felt like a disaster just waiting to happen.

We only looked at three different vehicles today, but the PC 2552 was by far our favorite.  Now we just need to find a 2910T to look at.  :)

Thank you all for your insights...Art and I truly appreciate it.  We have been RVing for over 20 years and full-timing the past 6+ years in a Class A.  But for various reasons, we want to downsize before we come off the full-time road.

Since we will continue full-timing, we wanted the convenience of a permanent bed and a dinette is very important as we need to spend considerable time on our laptops.  So the 2910T definitely caught our attention, but the three slides made us wary about the OCCC.  However, your OCCC has encouraged us, Kevin, as well as Ron's "fireside suggestion" (that's a wonderful phrase): "If I absolutely wanted model 2910T, I would buy one without Liquid Springs to avoid the extra weight (not available anyway), get the leveling jacks and extra capacity tires, and enjoy."

And Don, your suggestion to "view the coach's OCCC as a target that will lower unless you properly plan where things go" has also given us some hope as we have definitely learned how to minimize and distribute our stuff over the years.

Our research has only just begun and we still need to see a 2910T in person.  We are heading over to La Mesa RV in Tucson today to see a PC 2552 so that we can see for ourselves the quality of the Phoenix Cruiser workmanship.  But our research and questions to this forum will continue.

Once again, many thanks to all of you...this forum is such a great resource!

Kevin, thank you so much!  This is exactly the kind of information that we were hoping to get.

You mentioned that your coach has the Liquid Spring suspension, but are we understanding correctly that it will no longer be installed on even the 2910s?

Also, we're assuming from your post that you do not have the automatic leveling jacks...I would imagine that adds an additional several hundred pounds?

We appreciate the information you provided regarding your tires...that is something we would definitely want to do, as well.

And thank you, too, for mentioning your salesmen at the Jacksonville Campers Inn.  One of our future questions was going to be recommendations for Phoenix Cruiser dealerships and I think this one goes right on our list.

As Ron said, OCCC stands for Occupant and Cargo Carrying Capacity.  Basically, it's the weight of everything you put in your motorhome (people, all your stuff (food, tools, clothing, dishes, etc.) and fresh water) and still be within the weight limitation that the motorhome chassis was designed to carry.

It's an important number for safety reasons, as well as wear and tear on the motorhome.  It seems to be a number that some RV sales people are reluctant to discuss.

General Discussion / OCCC for 2910D and 2910T

Hi!  We're really hoping all you 2910D and 2910T owners out there can help us out.  We are trying to find out what the OCCC is for both models and have not been able to find anything.  Can anyone out there help us with that information?

Many thanks in advance...we are downsizing from a Class A and this info will help us decide which PC to get!

General Discussion / 2910T Bed
« on: November 05, 2021, 09:30:58 pm »
New forum members here.  We currently full-time in a Class A but are very interested in downsizing to the 2910T.  We have so many questions!  I'll start with this one:  is the bed accessible when the slide is in?  Or does the bed fold when the slide is in?  Many thanks in advance!
