General Discussion / Re: New batteries issue
« on: August 31, 2025, 10:58:27 pm »
I’m embarrassed to say it was my voltage reader.  Harbor Freight is good for certain things but saving money on a voltage a reader w/o battery indicator isn't one of them.  Popped in a fresh battery and it’s 12.7 v !!!   I was relieved for the easy fix but feel stupid for not thinking of that.  It’s an age thing.

My mistake. They are running parallel, I misspoke. I checked it again and the wiring is correct. It's exactly the same as I've always had Gave up trying to post a photo.

Purchased two Duracell 12 V AGM 110ah/800 cca batteries.  After installation I was getting 19v plus measurement at batteries and the Xantrex volt meter said 12.6.input voltage.  Double checked the series wiring and it’s correct.  Any ideas?   I don’t understand what the problem is.  Inverter/converter or  issues with MH wiring?

Thank you for the feedback.   I will continue my quest to replace the trim.  If I was more proficient with posting pictures on this site I have one showing all 4 corners
seriously cracked.  The are some trim pieces  that are close so I may have to modify it.  One of my neighbors has a CNC for metal and I may go over and challenge him to make one. That keep us both busy for a couple days.  My unit is exactly the same one that Ron posted.

Our microwave face trim has stress cracks on all four corners and I fear the entire Sharp convection oven will fall out on a bumpy road! I have spent a few hours searching the net and this bog and can't find replacement trim.   ( 17" x 23"-OD 11.25" x 20.5"-ID. )  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  Last resort would be to trim the unit out with wood.

Talked a guy at Batteries Plus who basically said the Agm battery will react exactly the same as a regular wet 12v.  Guess I’ll quit worrying about the inverter/converter.

I have purchased 2 AGM batteries and haven’t been able to find out if my Xantrex XM 1800 Pro inverter needs any adjustments.  Noticed on the battery maintainer I used during the winter it has a AGM setting.  Does the Xantrex have any such setting?  The unit is a 2007 XADC-P50.   Maybe mfg prior to AGM battery.  Beginning to regret buying them w/o checking first.  Any feedback would be appreciated.

What a fantastic adventure. Sounds like you really put your PC though one heck of a challenge.  I have a 2008 2350 and it's a beast too.  We pride ourselves on boon docking and find ourselves in some pretty sketchy places but with a little common sense the 'Minimoto' comes though.  The weakness lies in the macerator, have had to repair it 3 times.  Yes, it's on me but it hangs so low and is unprotected for the most part.   I plan on removing the entire waste line this winter, rebuilding the valves and securing the macerator with better protection.  I too follow Ron's suggestions and tweaks (thanks Ron!).
Thank you for sharing your travels.

Sounds perfect for what I need.  I wish I was going to the reunion.  That is very kind of you to offer a freebie like that.
Unfortunately we are not traveling to that event, story of my life! If nobody picks it up I'll be happy to pick up all shipping and packing cost.
Safe travels

The schematic is perfect.  I have the  2008/2350 and will laminate it, adding to my growing binder of manuals and information.
Have not had any electoral issues to date but your easy to read layout will be useful.  Thanks for your excellent work!  Well done.

General Discussion / Re: Mice
« on: May 31, 2022, 12:57:43 pm »
Every fall when I winterize I set a few traps on the inside and have never had any mice issues that is until this year.  The rear exterior slide-out bid had a huge nest.  I kept towels and rags in there and they made great nesting material.  There was also a sizable stash of pine cone seeds.....they were very comfortable!  They did not however not gain access to the water tank area or main cabin.  I set traps in the bin and caught two overnight. I plan on leaving one set in there until I fix the problem. This has never happen before.   I need to seal the gap in back of the slide-out bin when its closed to stop the little critters.  Maybe this is where your mice get in. Good luck.

Thanks to both Don and Ron.  I will take your suggested  precautions and apply them.  It’s Montana in late November and I need to be prepared for every type of weather imaginable.  The unit should be out of the wind which should help.  Thanks again for you advice.

I should have searched this topic before I wrote this…there were some good pointers; any further insight would be appreciated!

Plan on taking 2009 2350 on a hunting trip. Will have 110 power. The fresh water has been emptied and hot water heater drained.  I have tank heaters.  I plan on flushing the toilet with jug water.  I am assuming that the tank heaters will be safe with any waste water that’s in them.  The living area will have heating.  Should I run a little antifreeze though the macerator to be safe.  What am I over looking?
Thanks for any suggestions.

I will check out the meter and if it’s an easy fix I’ll do it.  Relieved that water heat switch should be off and a little embarrassed!   I printed off the wonderful new manual PC put out, 3 holed punched it and was planning on adding it to all the others.  Maybe I should read it first!
Thanks everyone for your help.... this blog is a Godsend.
