General Discussion / Re: Northwest get-together in 2020?

Welcome to yes, this beautiful part of the country.  I've been where  you will be volunteering.  I'm in eastern WA.  April is early for me since it can snow and we certainly get frost then.  June, July,August, even Sept can work here.  Steamboat Rock State Park is in the middle of WA.  Sept is a great time to do that since summer it's pretty full except maybe during the week.  In north Idaho is FarragutSstate Park north of Coeur d'Alene.  Maybe others can suggest places to play for a couple of days.

Is there a place on this site to find out where there are group events so we can meet each other?

Thanks for posting that info about the extra curved bars.  I'll show that to the place putting on the new awning.  Wish I had asked more questions here before committing to the new awning.  But let's see how it all goes.

My mirrors are also yellowed or maybe they were yellow at birth.  The ad  you posted shows out of stock.  I wonder if the function of mirrors is the same as when my 2006 comes with.  If so, is it hard to paint them black or some other color?  The yellowed ones work fine but I would like it to look nicer.

A few yers ago I found mine on RVTrader and it was parked in a field.  I had had a few rvs so I knew why it hadn't sold yet.  I put in several thousand $$ along the way but it's sure worth it.  So good luck to you.  I drive by Frenchtown on my way to Missoula from WA so I'll wave next time I go by.  I lowballed my offer and it was accepted.  Yes, you don't know why one is selling and their circumstances and I didn't have a big budget.  Used is great.  Have fun.

I had read lots are swimming in rvs to sell.  Yes, many people have them but right now anyway, the market is down some.  At a time when I hope new rv parks are being built.  Thanks for posting that info.  I wonder how used are selling which is how I found mine.  Or is that figure included.

Thank you Vokemon and Ron for your input.  I don't know why it  has bean so difficult to operate but I did decide to get the power awning and I hope it is a breeze to operate.  I also chose to have one with the legs.  I'm paying (dearly) to have the work done.  But I see from your posts how it's done.  I often dry camp and just set up and go enjoy the outdoors.  I eat outside under the shade of the awning and sit and read and all so making it easier is worth the change.  I may miss other aspects of the Fiamma but here goes.  I'll try to figure out how to post a photo of the new look.

Thanks for the responses.  I had looked into getting a motorized one last year so had some of that info in mind.  I went to another place and today ordered the new Carefree power awning, 13'.  It will come in in two weeks and I'll have it put in.  I hope to come up with a use for the manual one which works if you have two people to manhandle it.  Yes, it's the Fiamma one which sits in a box which looks nice actually.  I do love driving the PC.  It's comfortable and drives nicely.  So this will help a lot.  Looking for people in the northwest who might want to camp a time or two.  Enjoy your rigs.

General Discussion / replacing manual awning with power awning
« on: January 26, 2020, 05:59:48 pm »
Hi all.  I have a 2006 Phoenix Cruiser with a manual awning which is hard for two to set up much less one person.  I inquired at a place about putting a motorized one and the price was shocking.  This year I want to check again to see what would fit and work out well for me.

Any response are welcome.  I wonder how the manual one is removed and how to be sure the openings are filled in to prevent water damage.  Also how long should a new one be?  This rv is 26' and I don't know how long the old awning is is.  I'll have to go measure that.  Also cloth, plastic, other materials?  Which manufacturer?  What do new rvs come with and do you like it?

Looking forward to reading all the info on this site.  Been a member but life got in the way.  I hope to have more time to keep up to date here.  Thanks.

General Discussion / Re: Full Body Paint? Why?
« on: June 10, 2018, 06:56:06 pm »
My 2006 PC has the curling decals and I wish something could be done about them.  So I read the comments here about paint.  My rig is 26' and I wonder where I would inquire about having it painted, what sort of shop.  If I call and inquire, I can decide if I want to spend that amount to make it look nicer.

General Discussion / Re: HI! my macerator died.
« on: June 10, 2018, 06:40:41 pm »
Though I'm new to rving I was new to the macerator and it seemed too hard to operate.  I had to crawl under the motor home and I'm old for that.  Plus something was leaking.  So I took my 2006 PC to the shop and said put something in that's simple for me to use by myself.  So the hose is stored and I hook it up to the black and then the gray.  Simple.  Hope I'm not missing something about dumping.  Let me know.  I love reading all your comments and the fact you are so willing to help each other.
