Everyone, thanks again for all your great guidance and advice.

donc13, you were exactly correct. . . . a perfectly good chassis battery will not operate the entry step if the coach batteries are dead.  Something to do with a sensor that will not allow the starting battery to be drained because your coach batteries are dead.  This is what the RV dealership told us also.  So we had to purchase two new 6-volt batteries.  Our coach batteries would have lasted longer if we had provided proper battery maintenance and checked the water level.  Frankly, we did not know we had to do this. . . shame on us!!  The technician showed us how to add distilled water.

Also, Ron, thanks for suggesting that we also disconnect the batteries, along with the main storage switch, when we are storing our PC for long periods.  We have never done a battery disconnect so I'm sure it will help with prolonging battery life.

I always appreciate the time that you guys spend to help us "mechanically challenged" RV owners.    Thank you very much!

So in the next few days we plan on "hitting the road", and will be gone until the end of October.  We are heading west, mainly to Utah, but also to attend my nephews engagement party in Orange County, Calif.  Then we are heading to Albuquerque for the International Balloon Festival.  We will be with the Adventure Caravan Rally for 10 days in Albuquerque.

So I want to thank y'all for the great suggestions regarding trouble shooting our entry step problem.  We are not very mechanically inclined people, so our troubleshooting did not produce a solution or any answers as to why all of a sudden the step stopped working.

At the end of July we made an appointment with our local RV dealer to have our step problem looked at, and they gave us their earliest appointment, which was August 14th.  That's OK . . . . we weren't planning another trip until the end of August.

Well, here it is, the end of August, and after much calling and prodding & asking them to please put our RV in the front of the line for service, we received an answer from the RV place today.  Our coach batteries are dead and this is why our step is not working.  They put a charge on the batteries last night and the batteries didn't charge up at all.  So we are having the batteries replaced, and hopefully our entry step problem will be resolved, and we will be able to pick up our PC 2350 today!!

Question:  We picked up our brand new PC in October 2014, so the batteries are a little less than three years old.  Is this the "normal" life for coach batteries?  When our coach was not being used we always had the switch in the "storage" position.  Our PC has 40,500 miles on the odometer. 

Question:  Also, even when we were plugged into shore power at the KOA campground, the step didn't work, which I thought it would have worked.  MB Sprinter chassis battery seems fine, never had any problems starting her up? Ron, do you think our chassis battery needs to be replaced also?  Looks like we won't be able to get on the road until after labor day.

It's all very confusing to me

So we picked up our brand new PC 2350 (Sprinter) in October 2014.  She now has 40,000+ miles. 

I would love to hear how many miles on your PC and how many years you have owned her.

Our 40,000 miles have been very free of problems. . . . . how about you?

We also live in St. Louis and we store our beloved PC 2350 outside.   We do not have a cover, so I am following responses.  Is there a cover to help protect?

Our entry step will not work.  It doesn't go in or out.  It is just dead.

In March we parked our PC 2350 in storage.  A few weeks ago we drove her to get a new windshield installed and the auto entry step does not work. 

Any one else experience this?

Adventure Anywhere / EXPLORING ACADIA NATIONAL PARK

FYI - For the past two days we have been exploring Acadia National Park in our PC 2350.  We do not tow a car and we did not have any problems driving the roads in the National Park.  We drove the entire Park Loop.  We did not have problems parking along the route either; we always found parking.  We did not have problems with the bridge clearances along the Park roads either.   We did not attempt Cadillac Mountain only because we took a Park Tour Bus up the day before. There was a lot of congestion/traffic on Cadillac Mountain, and even though I know we could get our PC up there, I do not think we would find a place to park.

We also explored Bass Harbor, Southwest Harbor, Seal Cove, Pretty Marsh with no problems in our 2350. 

Oh, this evening we are staying at Narrows Too RV Park, on Bar Harbor Rd, in Trenton, Maine, and there is another beautiful Phoenix Cruiser staying here as well, and they are from Alaska!  Have not talked to them yet, but their PC looks a little bigger than ours, and they have a similar paint job as our PC.  That's exciting!

We have a 2015 PC 2350 (have 33,500 miles on it) and we have never been sorry that we did not order the leveling jacks.  We bought the "Lego" type levelers and have been very happy with this method.  It doesn't take us but a few minutes to level our coach, and more than 50% of the time we are level without the Lego blocks.

Thanks for all the good suggestions!  Dale checked out that little switch on the roof to see if it was stuck or something, and it seemed to be working, that is it wasn't sticking in the closed position.  Also, the house batteries are still strong and the coach ceiling lights were working.  The electrical troubleshooting that Joe R suggested will be the next step.

Gail, you had a good suggestion regarding the small Vornado fan.  We will be bringing ours along with us on this trip for sure.

And randallandchris, thanks for the tips regarding the Maritime Provinces! I printed off your message and put it with our travel guide material that we are taking with us.

Thank you Carol & Ragoodsp for your responses. . . . . . but our Fantastic Fan is dead regardless if the dial is turned to red or blue on the dial.

I'm so glad we are heading north on Saturday.   St. Louis temps and humidity are miserable right now.

Carol, where are you hanging out today?  Is it hot where you are?

Anyway, I don't think our problem is "operator error".  Our Fantastic Fan just died today. . . . . who knows why?

General Discussion / FANTASTIC FAN

Our beloved "Baby Beast" (2350 Sprinter) has been sitting in our driveway today because we are loading her up with supplies for our trip up north to the Canadian Maritime Provinces.  We are leaving Saturday morning for a 2.5 month trip to the U.S. Northeast and Canada.

As our PC is parked in our driveway in preparation for our trip, and it is blistering hot here in St. Louis, we have been running the "Fantastic Fan" to circulate the air in the coach. . . . . the Fantastic Fan stopped working today and we don't know why.  Dale looked at fuses, put in new fuses, and nothing seemed to help.
Does anyone have any ideas as to why our Fantastic Fan stopped working?  The little roof fan in the bathroom works fine.

We have our Baby Beast plugged into our household current to run the fans in our coach as we load Her up for our trip.

We very much appreciate any ideas and advise on this problem.

Thanks for the input, Ron, makes me feel better that you never use the "city water" selection and you do just fine without it.  One less hose to get out and put away.

Hello RKS

Dale talked to Kermit today and Kermit is sending us a new inlet valve so we can fix our water overflow problem.

The access to install the new inlet valve is to take out the drawers underneath the wardrobe closet on the driver's side of the coach.

I'll let you know what we decide to do.  We are leaving on Friday for 2.5 months, going north.  Our first stop might be Elkhart, Indiana. We may end up visiting the Factory to get this issue fixed before we head out to Canada for 2.5 months.  Dale is not very excited about trying to fix this problem himself, and Kermit said just stop on by and they would help us out.  This is why I love PC!

But we could also visit the Factory when we are wrapping up our trip to Canada and get the issue resolved on our way back to St. Louis!

If we decide not to go to the Factory to fix this issue before our trip, we won't be able to use the "City" hookup for our entire trip.  So I guess we will be using our water pump a whole lot more on this trip.  I'm thinking this won't be too much of a problem.

So many options. . . . . . . .

Thanks so much for your response.  What you describe is exactly what is happening.  Hooking to City water on the knob fills the fresh water tank completely full and it keeps filling and never stops.  The overflow drips all the time.

Your help is very much appreciated.  I'll call Kermit on Monday.

Hello. . . . it is Dale & Cindy again with another question and hopefully some sage advise.

So we have a 2015 2350 (Sprinter). 

When we camp for several days in one spot, we connect into the city water (on the drivers side of our coach and we turn our Knob to "City").  However, recently when we hooked up to city water, the water overflow on the passenger side of the coach overflows constantly.  DRIP, DRIP, DRIP.  It leaks all the time.  I do not know why this is happening.  This is a recent problem and never happened before when we hooked into city water.

Any ideas?
