The Wacky Cake
I make this all the time in the PC since you mix it in the pan you bake in. Taste great and very easy.
1 1/2 C. sifted flour
1 C. sugar (I use a little less)
1 tsp. baking soda
3 T. cocoa
1 tsp. vinegar
1 tsp. vanilla
5 T. butter, melted
1 C. cold water
Sift, flour, sugar, baking soda, and cocoa into ungreased 8 inch square cake pan. Level off, and with back of spoon, make three holes in dry mixture. Into one hole pour vinegar, in second hole pour vanilla, in third hole pour melted butter. Pour cold water over all, and stir thoroughly with a fork to mix dry ingredients. Bake at 350 for about 30 minutes. Spread with frosting whebn cool.
My Sharp convection oven was an exact 30 minutes, my Apollo oven is about 25 minutes.
