When we were returning from our trip to Alaska, we decided to spend one night at a Walmart in Helena, MT and stock up. While setting up next to the only tree on the lot, we met a couple that had just bought a Class A and were waiting to get their title at the courthouse. They were a hoot to be around and we ended up staying three nights to keep them company. We cleared it with Walmart and ended up spending about $150 at the store (definitely not free camping  :-D).

It's not that I'm insensitive, it's probably that I just don't care. ;)

We end up in campgrounds a lot. Our travel style is tourist: drive, see and move on. Used to never be a problem to grab a campsite at a campground by late afternoon without reservations but the last few years that does not always work as campgrounds are getting fuller. I now have other resources such as OvernightRVParking, Campendium, IOverlander, BoondockersWelcome, DaysEnd (If you're an Escapee member), and HarvestHosts.

I like Cracker Barrel as its great to get up to a warm breakfast! We have also used Walmart many times.

I think churches with large unused parking lots are an untapped resource if someone could organize the option and get permissions.

I purposely chose a grey two-tone without swag for the RV to be a bit more stealthy, as much as a 2552 can be stealthy!  ;)
