LED lights

I purchased two led light bars, good price and they work, BUT no instructions on how to wire. The bar has 3wires, the oem lights have 3wire. Dose anyone know how to connect them to the oem tail lights? I know they work, the brown to ground, green w/yellow to + but what about the third wire?

Billy,
What are the 3 colors?
I've installed many LED lights and will tell you that generally, the Brown wire is for the tail/running lights, red for brake and white for ground.
You can try the lights by touching the leads to the battery.

There are 3 wires, Brown, Green with Yellow stripe and White with Red stripe. I “tested” the light bar, white to ground, green white with yellow to + and they both work. I tested; I think most all-different configurations these two were what worked. I noticed on the taillights there are 3 wires BUT both tail and brake are together, there is no separate turn signal.  tymote

The LEDs should illuminate at 2 different intensities; red for tail and bright red for brake/turn.
White is ground.

I've never seen that color combination on A/M lights but suspect the Green/Yellow (which are the standard colors of turn signal wires in a harness) are brighter and the White/Red are the tail.

As an amateur radio operator a friend and I were building a 1000-watt amplifier. After all was done I asked Jerry, “what now” his simple reply was, “plug it in and we’ll check for smoke” OK, after some trial and error I think I’ve figured it out?

RIG            TO         LED BAR LIGHT,
brown         black
white               white with red stripe
red               green with yellow stripe

This is a neat light you have running lights, then brake lights, then the turn signal which looks like it interrupts the brake light but still have the running lights? Make since???

Thank you for the photos. The new lights look great.  2o2
I've also been planning to do exactly that but haven't yet run the wires from the low lights to where you've placed them (I did that with our Alpine so they could be seen when towing the Edge).
Questions:
1.  Can you tell me how you ran the wires (did they drop straight down)?
2.  Did the 3rd brake light illuminate before you installed the new lights?
3.  Where did you buy the new lights?

 I want to do the same but I have a few questions also.

1. I notice that pictures 3 and 4 both look like your running light are off, so I am guessing that you have the brake on. Why is picture 4 so much brighter than picture 3?

2 What do they look like with just the driving lights on?

3. Do the new lights blink with the turn signals? Is the turn signal flasher the stock flash or did you have to install a heavy duty flasher?

I hope Kermit see this tread and starts putting them on the new PCs as standard equipment.

I didn't notice the running/marker lights were'nt on.
I'd want the new lights to operate with the head/running/marker/signal lights and would install a flip-flop relay/alarm circuit to energize all lights when the ignition was on (like I did with the Alpine).

Yes, it was a little difficult, BUT like old dad always said, “the difficult we do immediately, the impossible just takes a little longer” I must have tapped on the sides for an hour trying to make sure I would be able to get the wires all the way down without hitting an obstruction. I drilled a ¼ hole, photos to come; it’s raining, in the bottom plate to push a wire up. I have some #10 wire and low and behold I could feel the wire in both sections.

2.  Did the 3rd brake light illuminate before you installed the new lights?

All the lights work as do the OEM

3.  Where did you buy the new lights?

A fellow in Quartzsite, I’ll look for the receipt? There are lot’s of on line places

#4 the flash on the camera was off.

I have not yet purchased a H/D flasher but will as I plan on turn signals up front somewhere. I installed them on the class A. This time LED for the Cruiser.

BTW, you may not need a Heavy Duty flasher. LED lights don't draw much current but the lights may flash a little faster.

I'll be interested to see more phtos.

On the flasher I did consider a H/ D but thought they are led, then it occurred to me know Ford its margenable.
