How many people are using eBooks and what brand do you use?

After reading a post where someone talked about building a cabinet to hold the 20 to 30 books they read on camping trip, I wondered how many of you have gone to eBooks. My wife and I both use Kindles and love them. You can restock them with books anywhere you have wifi or 3g service, depending on which model you have. Also, the 3g capable models give you internet and email service for no charge as part of the unit. We were able to send and receive emails in the middle of the Pacific Ocean on a recent cruise. Anyway, do you use them and which one??

That was my post about the cabinet and, to be perfectly honest, I've seriously thought about getting a Kindle.
However, I was not aware it would get mail, etc. (now you've given me another reason to get one).

But, life is full of Gottas, Wannas and Nicetas (Gotta have, Wanna have and Niceta have). A Kindle is now on my list of Wannas.

My SubVets group is having a raffle and 2nd prize is a Kindle. As I'll probably not win, it'll jump to my Gottas list.

Hey, here's a thought, if I tell Peg she can have the entire "Pantry" if I don't have to carry books, maybe she'll let me get a Kindle now.

I have a NOOK w/ WiFi and also an additional 16G memory chip installed. I have documents, lists of names w/house and e-mail addresses, tel. # and etc., music, audio books and approx. 150 ebooks in it with plenty of room for more.

my wife has the Nook and uses it regularly with her book club. She seems to enjoy it & that's what counts.

As usual, I am the different one. I have a Sony e-reader. It is the first generation. The newest generation has e-mail and the web. With the new readers you can even get your daily newspapers downloaded, even the wall street journal. It is pretty neat. The only problem with all this technology that we technologizing ourselves right out of jobs!!!.

Dave,

I think that may be part of the reason I've resisted an E-book.

I have a friend that lost his "Pocket Secretary" and really was a wreck until he was able to eneter all his information to a new one. What a PitA that must have been. I don't want to get to that mind-set.

BTW, we met GradyGal and her husband at Promised Land State Park in PA this evening. WOW. Talk about really nice people. They had a long day and we left early so they could rest a bit before they hit the road again at 6:00 AM tomorrow....

Hopefully, they'll stop by at the 'reunion' in NH.

I was not aware of how nice PLSP is. Electric & water. The dump station is close by but none at the sites, which are well spaced and nicely maintained.

As best we know, cost(s) is/are $11.00/nite for PA residents, $22.00 for out-of-staters.

Kindle, 2000 books in the space of a paperback. I got it with the leather cover that has a LED reading light built in. My wife loves that as I don't desturb her with my late night reading. The screen is easy to read even in the bright sun. Fully charged even using the light every night the Kindle stays charged up for at least a week. Recharges in just a few hours.

My wife and I both have the Nook Color w/WiFi. Great way to read and not have to carry around the books. They also can be used for accessing your E- mail. Some books are pricey but always less then new in store.
