Yes in deed, center load would be good, especially if you can't use a ground plane. I agree with W3DOT.

Does anyone know exactly when or for how long fiberglass hoods were used on E series vans?    My 2010 sure has a steel hood,  that is unless they are making fiberglass that allows magnets to stick to it!!!

I am just guessing here.....wildly guessing.

Ford went to a fiberglass hood when they restyled the van body in 1990, retiring the boxy look of the 70s and 80s.
Ford changed back to a steel hood when they restyled the front grill in 2008 to the rough and tough industrial look of today.
