PC Fuses Under Dash, Kick Panel and Under Hood

Hello AlI
I don't know about you but there were 6 fuses that PC installed (my rig) in the wiring that I was curious about. PC never labeled them or even gave an idea what they were for. I guess you might have been able to call the factory and they would give you the answer. I would however imagine they vary from year to year. Here are a couple sketches I put together that may help you if something isn't working. Also I will list the fuses, my PC is a 2017 2552..
 Under the hood, 5 Amp fuse for power to the white switch on the dash
 Under the kick panel drivers side, 5 Amp fuse for the mirrors
 Under the dash drivers side, 15 Amp fuse for HWH Levelers (control power tapped from Ford's fuse panel under dash)
 5 Amp fuse for Radio, Camera Multiplexer Switch there are 3 other wires I am still chasing. There were 8 wires tied together with a wire nut, some went to the pioneer navigation system which I removed. This is fed from a Ford factory plug under the dash wire color Y/R.
5 Amp fuse to Step Switch, This is fed from the same Ford factory plug under the dash, wire color G/R
25 Amp fuse to Step Motor, This is also fed from the same Ford factory plug under the dash and is tied into the G/R wire

Not sure if this helps or confuses you more, wish PC would just publish the wiring diagrams like other coach builders...

Thank you for your diagram on the fuses behind the kick panel. I have asked for help on that very issue in a previous post. PC does not have a wiring diagram for their coaches. You have answered some of those questions. 

Here are some possibilities on the other fuses behind the driver's side kick panel: slide motor, solenoid to generator starter, Sanicon???? On my 2013 3100 they are not listed on the DC fuse panel on the power control center. 

FYI On the power control center the DC fuse marked LP sensor also goes to the tank level indicator panel. That's another fuse PC techs never marked correctly. for some unknown reason, I had a previous owner take out that fuse. I thought I had a bad indicator panel and LP sensor. Upon investigation I found the fuse was missing for the LP sensor. After replacing that fuse the tank level indicator panel also started working.

Please post what the results are from any further investigations you do on those fuses.

thanks for the info about the tank level indicators, I never knew that. I was wondering if you could send me the information on those LED lights you installed to replace the ceiling lights.  Those long ones that had three settings, high, med, and low. I forgot to get-up with you before you left the rally.

Larry your profile online shows that you have a 2900 PC not a 3100 PC. It confused me when I was trying to contact you.

Thanks for the heads up on the mistake on the PC model. I corrected it.

I got the LEDs from Amazon

Here is some additional information I just found in Fords Builders Layout Book for the E350/450 dated 2018. I have these plugs on my 2017

This is used for the step wiring
"Hot at all times
Circuit no. SBB68 Wire Color: Green / Red
• A fused 50 amp circuit.
• Found: at 4-pin customer access connector above the brake master
cylinder or above and to the right of parking brake release handle by the
relay pack (part of the Modified Vehicle Wiring)"

This is used to close solenoid under the hood when starting to charge the coach battery and to supply accessories under the dash
Ignition Hot-in-RUN
Circuit no. CAC14 Wire Color: Yellow / Orange
• A fused 40 amp circuit
• Found: at 4-pin customer access connector above the brake master
cylinder or above and to the right of parking brake release handle by the
relay pack (part of the Modified Vehicle Wiring)

So if your adding items like USB ports to the dash or other accessories you probably should use these wires. PC has used them and it appears they carry enough amperage to add a couple other accessories.

On our pre-2009 Ford dash board, I tapped into the cigarette lighter for power.  It has a very thick power wire and high amperage supporting fuse.

I added a dual USB and single 12V outlet on the cup holder as shown.  I included a connector to disconnect them when removing the cup holder for engine access.  Ford placed the original 12V outlets in the way of driving, specifically when using the gear shifter which was especially irritating when engine braking.  Our cell phone cords and adapters were in the way of everything including shifting.....but not since I added the power outlets seen here in the side of the cup holder.  In this picture, they have rubber caps on them.

Thanks for the great write up and info.  It doesn't matter what vehicle I am working on, I try to label the unknown wires not only for me, but for the future.  I happen to find the 5 amp step fuse in a wired mess on the drivers side kick panel.  It was so hidden it took me about 3 times before I found it.  I did share that in a previous post.  My point was not to steal this thread but to hopefully add some insight along with the other info provided.

It appears that PC had added fuses and placed them in various locations with no rhyme or reason, my step fuse is under the dash.  The only fuse behind the drivers side kick panel is for the mirrors. Go figure...

Everyone fuse arrangement behind the  kick panel under the emergency brake seems to be different. Here is a picture of my 5 fuses. I still don’t know what 2 of them go to. The area is so crowded that you might not find every fuse. There are 3 red, 1 yellow and one black fuse holder.

To clean things up I plan to put in a small fuse box similar to ones used for auxiliary fuses in motorcycles

Yours looks better than mine did. I had one fuse that supplied 7 wires and they were all in a wire-nut.  Looked like a kid in high school was wiring in their first car stereo. I have all my fuses figured out its just the one that fed 7 wires, I have figured out what 4 wires fed just 3 more to go.  I was going to install a fuse block but you would need either 2 fuse blocks or one split fuse block as some of the circuits work off the ignition switch and others are hot all the time. So I just got out my label maker and labeled the fuses.  The circuit with the 7 wires I installed a terminal block so the wires were not stuck in a wire nut.  I removed all the butt connectors, then soldered and shrink-tubed everything. One thing that I still don't like is how they got power for the HWH leveler control circuit. They stuck a cheezie spade adapter in the fuse block and the cover to the fuse block won't latch closed completely.

1) mirrors ( tied into ignition switch) 5 amp
2) step switch ( hot all the time) 5 amp
3) step motor (hot all the time) 25 amp
4) cameras, navigation module, (still working the rest, were 7 total) (tied into ignition switch) 5 amp
5) HWH leveler control power, (tied into ignition switch, but at fuse block under dash drivers side) 15 amp

All--just a note to say thanks for this discussion.  And thanks to Lance for the details he provided on what he found on his unit and for the Layout Book plug info.

Although I've developed a pretty good handle on my RV electrical layout over the three years I've had it, I've never needed to dig into the Phoenix under-dash or kick-panel wiring (knock on wood!).  From the various discussions on this forum, however, several things power from that area and it sounded like it could be confusing when I inevitably had to do that.  This type info gives me a head start and a leg up.  I've copied this data and added it to the "Electrical" section of my RV file, along with other bits and pieces I've been able to pick up.  Many problems crop up at the most inopportune time--usually when you're not in good position to conduct leisurely or extended troubleshooting, so any information you've been able to accumulate ahead of time is especially valuable then.
