We’re up in Ventura County. Our favorite playgrounds are the Central coast , Sierra Nevadas, and southern Utah. Big Bear was really nice last June too.

I am surprised and a little confused regarding a slideout on a TRX.  I don't see that in the floorplans.  Did they just start making the TRX with a slideout option?

Apparently they no longer offer a slide-out.  I wonder if the extra weight made the rig too heavy.

As many here know, I find slide-less motorhomes with working floor plans most desirable.  I wish Phoenix offered slide-less versions of their other models where applicable.  Personally I would pay the same to have the slide-out deleted even though back in 2007 it saved us over $4000 to go slide-less.  Now that is a way Phoenix can improve profit margins.....pay the same to get less.

I am only *guessing* I have zero insider or outsider knowledge...

Is it possible that a slideout was only available for 1 year and perhaps that model didn't sell very well?  I say that because I only found 1 video that spoke about a slideout and that was for a 2021 model.  I couldn't find a Floorplan for a TRX with a slideout.

Last I heard, due to high demand, Phoenix is no longer taking special orders. They build them fully featured with all the bells and whistles including full body paint, and every unit gets sold.  Phoenix is in a very good place right now which means it's not so good for the consumer.....I am happy for them.

Last I heard they still take special orders. You order through the dealer and they work with the factory to see if your chosen options can be done and how much they cost.

They DO have what you might call standard feature models (still with lots of popular add ons) that are built and shipped to dealers when there isn't a specific buyer already.

It works like buying a car. If you want to walk into the dealer lot and drive away in a new PC, you get the standard dealer package (assuming there are any out there that weren't already snatched up). If you want extra bells and whistles, you place your order with a dealer and wait until it's built.

Yes it's a long wait now. It was a bit over 4 months wait for us back in the "slow" winter of 2012/2013. I think I read someone saying it was 6-8 months over the busy summer this past year.

I toured the new factory last October. They are putting a lot of things in place to streamline the assembly line. They are also attempting to hire more techs. However, the RV industry has gone wild so ALL those dealers and manufacturers are trying to hire. I imagine the hiring pool in Elkhart is really small.
