Lance: Happy it worked out for you and Kevin!
Mine didn't change at all with the addition of the second idler. Must be barking up the wrong tree.
Might try a different oil weight to see if it has an effect.
Have already tried higher octane gas.
My wife thinks I'm crazy because she can't hear it (probably other reasons too  :lol )

I wonder if adding the extra pulley is a good idea regardless.  That is a very long stretch of "belt" without some kind of stabilization.  Doing a little investigative work on the internet, it seems that extra pulley was installed from the beginning around 1997 through year 2005.  2006 seems to be the first year without it.
