What is the half dollar size magnet on the left hand side entrance door frame for?

On a 2008 model year?  I have no idea.  Maybe a previous owner added it thinking it would help hold the screen door closed.  If it is easily removed (not glued on) maybe a PO used it for a purpose only he would know.  All I can say for certain is that our 2007 entry door does not have a magnet.

I would agree with Ron, a magnet in that area isn't "standard"

As Ron asked, is it just stuck on the frame, holding itself there by its own magnetic attraction or is it gluded in place?  Where exactly in the frame does it stick? Right in the middle (up/down) middle (front/back) etc?

Maybe the previous owner is still wondering where his favorite magnet disappeared to. ;)

Favorite magnet? I think not. It’s obviously a Naval surplus degaussing system altered to repel tail dragging rather than sea mines.

There’s an entire thread on hitch rollers and this is all that’s needed.

The only other possibility is that I haven’t a clue.

I have a small LED flashlight stuck there on my rig.  Easy to grab if you need to run outside at night.  Its possible the previous owner did something similar and the magnet detached from the flashlight (or whatever) at some point.  Leaving the mystery magnet.

Ingress cancellation. It blocks the Fivegee  that gets past the screen door.

2lucky.    Now if I was 30 years younger I’d buy two of those.

Thanks for all the replies.  I know it ain't a chick magnet cus no chicks come around.  It is definitely glued on pretty good.  Probably held a flashlight is my guess.

Seriously now, in that location I have one of those stick-up battery powered led lights that look like a wall light switch, magnetically attached to that door jamb for an easy-find entry light, it also works nice for a gentle outdoor light when the door is open. (I hate bright lights, especially outdoors) The magnets it uses are more quarter size tho, not half-dollar. Also, the velcro on them will attach them anywhere you want on the ceiling of a PC, really nice over the cab seat. One of the many "as seen on tv" items worth checking out.

I use many AA/AAA powered or rechargeable fixtures, even at home, using rechargeable AA/AAA batteries for all these things, for many years now, and have saved a bunch of money on batteries by doing so. And my solar PC and home charges them for free.

Our home is also solar powered, net zero actually.  Last summer I was in the market for a new lawn mower.  After comparing the dozens of gas powered models I suddenly realized I was being stupid.  Why buy a gas mower when I generate all of my own power?  I got a really nice electric model from Lowes.  Very, very happy with it so far.

It is a great way to mow. I have a Kobalt from Lowe's I got cheap at a yard sale, loved it so much I got a self-propelled Ego from HD for the big back yard.  No smell, no gas, no carb, great torque, just remember to charge it with the sun!
