I will put some plumbers tape (as Ron shows above that is what we called it) to support the whole of it.
I thought plumber's tape was Teflon tape used on pipe threads to seal pipe joints.

Nope, it's a 1/2" wide strip of steel with holes in it about every inch.   Used to support long horizontal runs of pipe, like dryer vent pipe or sewer lines, etc.

Here we call teflon tape ' Plumbers Tape' also. We call the perforated metal (and sometimes solid plastic) support strap ' Plumbers strap'.  Might be regional thing.

Mine had the same leak.   Got a 3 inch x 3 inch coupling like this:       https://www.homedepot.com/p/Fernco-3-in-x-3-in-PVC-DWV-Mechanical-Flexible-Coupling-P1056-33/100372296
I wrapped part of an old bicycle innertube around the pump and tightened the clamps.  So far it is holding.

Glad to hear others call it plumber's tape. I went to Home Depot and ask a person for it last week and he showed me some kind of wide plastic tape. When I described what I was looking for he told me that was called strap and directed me to it. It's been so long since I had bought some, I thought I was getting senile and had forgotten the name. Good to know I am just old and the melon still works!  :)

Here too....most of the time.  Just like a computer that is near full, I'm bogged down.  If only I could purge the 40 years of worthless work-related information to make room on my internal hard drive.  roflol
