Spearfish Reunion Cancelled. So where to?

With the Spearfish Reunion being cancelled, and for good reasons. Are you making other plans? Without the large group RVing is still pretty safe, or so we think. So with no reunion are you substituting that time with other locations? Where?
We're planning to tour Wisconsin, the Apostle Island area into the UP and back down through Wisconsin, back to St. Louis. Maybe two to three weeks cause we will need to get home, refresh, restock and then head to Florida (Destin area) along the coast to Louisiana, If there's anything left of it for another three week trip.
Jack is what we call our PC 2351D, and he has taken us from campers to RV'ers and loving it. We're no longer Team Bob. Just Jack the RV!

Spearfish City Campground is still a great campground, one of our favorites.   In fact, we were there for 5 days on our last trip.   Yes, we got huge hail there and some damage to the PC.  That can happen anywhere in the West during late spring/early summer.   I, personally, have never heard of that happening late summer/early fall.

We had planned to leave our Texas home June 6th for Alaska and travel for 3 months.  That didnt work out so good...Canadian border is closed.  So, we left anyway and headed to Estes Park Colorado and the Rocky Mountain National Park.  We have traveled Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, South Dakota, and New Mexico.  During the trip, we decided to head to Elkhart at the end for some service.  We are now in Elkhart and are anxious to get back to Texas.

We experienced no problems and some mask "inconvenience".  Every restaurant we wanted to visit was open.  Masks were required upon entering and taken off once seated.  Some of the restaurants had patio dining only.  They have gotten very creative to create a nice outside dining area.  All shops, all states, were open with the mask requirement.   Most attractions and things to do were open.

I dont normally make advanced campground reservations, but under the circumstances, I made reservations for the entire trip.  The only issue I had was the campground in Jackson, WY.  It's basically right in town and pretty nice.  I could only get 3 nights and moved on to another CG which was actually closer to the Tetons.  The Jackson WY CG was 100 bucks a night, so I wasnt too awfully disappointed, although the location was excellent to downtown Jackson (aka Jackson Hole).

The CG's in popular destination areas seem to be very busy.  LOTS  of Class C rentals and lots of newbies (we were all newbies at one time).  While in Jackson, I actually witnessed a Class C leave the campground with the awning FULLY deployed.  People were yelling, one pickup truck took chase with horn blaring.  The Class C stopped when the awning met with a telephone pole (I may have told this story here already).

All in all, it has been an excellent trip.  Unless one is just flat-out scared to leave home, I highly recommend hitting the road and enjoying your PC.

Cheers :)(:
