More questions on the 2551/2552
« on: March 13, 2011, 09:48:15 am »
How do folks with the 2551/2552 like the twin beds.  Are they easy to make?  Do you find them to be enough room to sleep?  Do they take standard sheets?

In this model how is the storage space?

I saw a 2552 with a pantry.  How is the space with the pantry?

How do you like the couch?  Is it comfortable?  How is the air bed?

Thanks
Barry and Sue

Barry and Sue,
We traded in our 2350 for a 2551. We had it delivered to Florida last month. So far, so good although we have yet to spend any nights cause all the Florida State Parks are full. Our first outing will be 3/23 and 3/24 at the W.P Franklin Corps of Engineers park on the Caloosahatchie River just ouside of Ft. Myers.

The beds are narrower than standard twins. Our mattress measure 32" wide. Standard twin sheets are too big but we bought sheet grippers so hope they will work to snugup the fitted sheet. You can order custom but they are expensive.

Skip Eppers RV in Punta Gorda has a 2551 on his lot. It's about 1/2 hour from where you are.

Judi and George,

Thanks.  Did you find alot more storage space going from the 2350 to the 2551?

Also, how does the outside storage on the 2551 meet your needs?

We really like our 2350 but find spending 6 months out of the year a little tight.  It was tough having both winter and summer clothes in the 2350.

We love to camp at W.P. Franklin.  Didn't get there this year but spent two weeks at the COE in Stuart (St. Lucie campground).

We've found there is more interior storage. Exterior storage is different than the 2350. The rear storage is the same. We have added shelving back there-it's where we keep propane cylinders, beach umbrella, outside carpet and general cleaning supplies for the exterior.

We've lost depth in the side storage. We would keep our recliners there in the 2350; can't do it in the 2551. We redid the storage under the diver's side bed to accomodate the zero gravity recliners and our satellite dome for our Winegard Carryout.

There is another storage area, outside, under the kitchen area. We haven't addressed that yet.

We have a 2008 2551 & leave the factory supplied bed covers in place & use cotton sleep sacks w/medium thickness comforters.  From a comfort stand point - neither of us has any complaints & the twins are certainly more comfortable than the slide out sofa/bed.
