Looking to buy a used Phoenix Cruiser 2552
« on: January 24, 2019, 12:04:26 pm »
Hello Everyone

I am looking to buy a used Phoenix Cruiser 2552. Maybe 2005 - 2012.
I am in California, will travel anywhere in the country if the deal sounds right. I have looked at
dozens of brands and have settled on the Phoenix because of size and quality.
Prefer a Ford chassis.
Thanks Scott     ;)

Hi Scott,

Just so you know, model 2552 was introduced in 2012.  You will not find a 2011 model year (or older) of the 2552.

If model 2551 is an alternative for you, then you can go back to year 2005.

Keep in mind that 2007 was the first year for all models where the whole house inverter and twin house batteries came standard.  I thought I had seen them in a few 2006s, maybe introduced near the end of the 2006 PC model year.

I don't know anyone who does not appreciate the inverter and two house batteries.

Thanks, that helps a lot. We are interested in the twin beds. The twin beds are the main reason and the length.  This will help me more on
my research for our perfect rv.

I own a 2011 2552 so I know for a fact they’d made them in 2011. I called Earl when I was first told they did make them in 2011 and he informed me it was the first year but they hadnt designated them as a 2552 because they hadn’t decided for certain on a 2552 designation at the time late in the year they were first built. When I bought it the dealer called it a 2551 but the layout matched the 2552 and all the documents inside the vehicle stated 2552, hence why I called Earl to find out. This being said I doubt there are many 2011 - 2552 models out there but they do in fact exist.

Thank you Joseph for the correction.  I looked in the 2011 brochure and did not see a model 2552 listed.

Your explanation clarifies model 2552 was introduced sometime during the 2011 production run.  A 2011 model year of a 2552 found for sale today may or "may not" be posted with the right model name.

So Scott, if you find a 2011-2551 posted for sale, but it has the 3rd seat by the main entry door, that is the indicator it's actually a 2552 posted with the wrong model name.

Ron, that’s what happened to me. It was listed at the dealer as a 2551 but the docs inside stated 2552. Of course when I saw the extra seat etc I started questioning myself but not the dealer. Last thing I wanted was for them to rethink the pricing.
