Phoenix sighting
« on: September 27, 2018, 10:16:27 am »
Just dropped our rig at Jordan Ford in Mishawaka for an oil change. Spotted a phoenix Cruiser from Florida on the lot. We are only here for the day but if you are in the area we'd love to meet you.

Yes, it was awesome. There was a slight delay on pick up but that was a communication issue (the rig was ready early Friday but we didn't get the call until later that day) and the fact we were up against the weekend. Our friends let us go gypsy on them for a few more nights so it worked out. We camped at Potato Creek State Park (awesome park) and scheduled a nice check up and oil change for our rig at Jordan Ford in Mishawaka. They are the ones Phoenix uses and they take every size rig. We were out of there in less than two hours and headed for Springfield IL to do the Abraham Lincoln National Park site and whatever else we find in the area.

We've decided to stay east of the Rockies since the 2019 PC Travel Club rally is in the East. We'll wander IL, MO, AR, MS, AL, GA and when it gets good and cold we'll slide south-southwest across LA, TX, NM, AZ then North as the weather warms up through UT, ID, WY, MT and sweep the northern states back around and down for the rally.

We are using our National Parks book, travel blogs, suggestions from friends, tourism sites and just plain looking at our tattered Rand McNally Road Atlas to determine our course.

So, for all you guys that kept asking if we have a plan, that's it. EVERYTHING subject to change on a whim - either ours or Mother Nature's.

Spotted another Florida Phoenix Cruiser at Wahweap Campground, Glen Canyon. Nobody around during our two drop ins but if you see this we're on site D-106 until Monday and would love to meet you.
