Have you ever had an annoying rattle that you wanted to eliminate.  We had one in the new RV.  It sounded like metal on metal, like silverware clanking together but we have not loaded the silverware yet.  It turned out to be the wheels on the footrest that pull out on the sofa.  The bolt (i.e. wheel axle) was loose on all four wheels and would rattle metal to metal with the bracket.  When the footrests are all the way in, the wheels just float making it easy for them to rattle.  So I tightened the bolt on all four wheels.

While I was at it I added the soft part of an adhesive velcro strip to the circumference of the wheels.  The wheels are very hard plastic and I thought they might scratch or wear the flooring over time.  Now the footrests go in/out nice and quiet.  Easy fix.

Good advise for couch owners.  2o2

It took a number of years to chase down the noises in our PC.  Apparently I "did good" because the remedies (and practices) continue to work.  They don't return, they stay gone.  It was well my effort.  Life on the road in our PC is a pleasure.

sources of rattles creaks and bangs for us with no slide out were.....
- microwave oven (replaced wood screws with spiked "T" nuts and regular screws)
- overhead TV (opened it up and added felt pads throughout the metal shielding inside)
- crank-up roof antenna (added felt pads under the feet and wings)
- flip-up counter (added felt pads in the hinge areas)
- stove grates (placed silicone pot holders on them, then set the Corian covers)
- entry door (Replace frame mounting screws with stronger, spray WD40, and adjustment the "catch")
- B+ cap (screwed the wood base cabinets to the steel roof underneath)
- the contents we bring along (padded drawer & cabinet liners & half-sheets of paper towels between items)

Good idea!
Nice list Ron.
I just found one this year that took me two years to track down.
Had a squeak in the kitchen area and by accident I realized that the mirror on the wall under the microwave was not fastened to the wall in the back.
since it sits on the counter top it would rub back and forth on the counter as the unit flexed on the road and sound like nails on a chalkboard.
reinstalled it and set it on a bed of silicone adhesive.
Much more peaceful now!!

One more for the list and one that drove me nuts for a while until found. The fire extinguisher can rotate over time and, in our case, got to a position where the nozzle would rub on to the wall. A quarter turn of the extinguisher solves it for a long time.

How about the crank rod for the fiamma awning?  i/ we found that it has an annoying squeak that needs addressing.Just a small rotation and lift stops the noise,    heartshower
