What bothers me about Facebook is that some of my family (around the country) use it exclusively to notify the rest of the family of special events, invitations, deaths, and more.
Fortunately Carrie is on FB daily so I just get a "news brief" at bed time.
But you are correct, I am amazed at how many important things that used to be communicated by phone or actual letter are now just posted on FB with the assumption that everyone will see it there. I've had relatives pass and the only reason I found out was someone posted on FB. There is something a little scary in that but I'm not smart enough to understand all the ramifications.
