Twin Beds - Shelf Options

We will be ordering our 3100 in May 2018. Like many people, we would love some sort of shelf near each bed for glasses, etc. A plug would be nice for a clock. We don't need connections for the phones, because we don't take them to bed with us.

I saw a recent picture of the shelf over the bed that Jatrax posted. Was this done by PC?

What options do we have and what other ideas do folks want to share?

This is another option.  However you decide to configure your shelf I think you will find one in the bed area adds a lot of convenience.

As far as a bedroom alarm clock is concerned.....

We have two battery operated alarm clocks that hang on our 2350 PC walls.  One up front to the left of the main entry door, the other on the bedroom wall to the left of the thermostat.  They display indoor and outdoor temperature readings.  We place the outdoor sensors in the rear outdoor storage compartment which works well.  We hang the clocks on a screw but they are also tacked down on the bottom, opposite the screw with Velcro so the clocks don't fall off the wall from a bad bump in the road.  The Velcro also keeps them straight.

We bought both clocks 10 years ago and they continue to work great.  They were affordable, costing between $20 & $30.  Here is the large living area clock.  The one in the bedroom is smaller and easy to remove and handle while in bed to set our wake-up time.

I sketched out what I wanted and Phoenix built it.  The result was not precisely what I sketched but the changes were due to materials and how they build things.  Functionally the same as my design.

They should have no issue adding a receptacle there as well.  However, your clock may not work as you think if it is 120volt because that will not be powered unless you are hooked to shore power, running the generator, or have the invertor on.  A 12volt clock might be a better choice and of course you will need a 12 volt receptacle then.  Or find a USB powered clock.  Something like this would work: https://www.amazon.com/Adjustable-Brightness-Triangle-Sound-Controlled-Temperature/dp/B076H1JDHN/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1510932041&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=usb+powered+clock&psc=1  and it would work all the time you have the 12volt power on.

I would strongly suggest you have them put in 12 volt powered USB charger receptacles.  You might not think you will need them but USB is becoming the standard charger for all manner of devices including phones, tablets, cameras and so on.  Better to have them installed and never used than to wish you had them a year down the road.  My wife and I are both Kindle users and it is nice to just plug them in to the wall charger and leave them in the above bed shelf.  And a USB powered clock would seem to be a good idea.

I have to use a Cap machine so that a 110 vacuum plug in the cabinet over the head of the bed, a hole drilled to alow hose and wiring, the outlet was also hooked to the Inverter, just wish we had did it for both sides. This has worked very well for us

NO worries Sir! Thanks for taking the time to upload. Looks like I am the 7th one, so its a popular item. Very functional, and uses otherwise 'worthless' space, a valuable thing in a 2350.

Jim, do you find having the cpap above your head problematic if you use a humidifing tank?  I am trying to figure where I can put my cpap with water tank below my head and still have enough air hose to accommodate my movements while I sleep.
