What I have, and used it once on my previous VW Rialta, is Progressive Insurance. They, at that time towed me to the nearest qualified shop to have my transmission cooler hose repaired. I had to pay for the repairs. They took care of the 20 mile tow job.
This is how their policy is written.
1. Towing to qualified repair facility
2. Labor of one hour at place of disablement.
Covered emergency, is for:
1. mechanical or electrical breakdown
2. battery failure
3. insufficient fuel, oil, water or other fluid
4. flat tire
5. lock-out
6 entrapment in show, mud, water, or sand, within 100 feet of a road or high-way.
As far as cost... I find that Motor Home insurance is very inexpensive compared to other vehicles. I asked the reason why to my agent. Very simply put, he said, a motor home us usually only used as a motor home. If its a Pickup with a camper on back, the owner can and does, take the camper off and now it's a simple pickup truck that can be used for many uses, making its insurance much more costly. Oh, OK, I said.. makes sense!
