The flip down extension is wood an does not match the counters. I think it will not get much use since it blocks access to back of coach completely. So sorry to hear about the glue softening and  slippage. Hope you can fix or replace. We have had 2 weeks to find out thngs and the Forum has revealed things we wish we knew in advance. The counters are in different places in different models. They all block something when up which is why they are designed to be up temporarily. The flip up counter in the 2552 is across the house door. I have been known to sqeeeeeze by or crawl under if it is set up and loaded with something and I need to get into the house. The cab doors would give easier access but we keep those locked.
