Snowbirds

I'm curious. How many PC's are snowbirds? I know there are comments here and there but I thought putting them in one post would be good. This question is good for the reverse snowbirds that live in the warmer zones and "fly" north for the summer too. I'm not looking for specifics like your town or street. More like New York City area to Miami for January through March.

Several questions:
1.  Where do you travel from?
2.  Where do you travel to?
3.  Which months do you normally relocate?
4.  How many years have you done this?
5.  Do you have a group of friends you see every year at your seasonal location?
6.  Do you dream of relocating to your favorite snowbird destination?

Apologies if this doesn't apply to someone who isn't exactly a snowbird (since I am full timing), but just slightly flighty. 

1.  Travel from wherever I was just before it gets too cold to stay there
2.  Florida this year
3.  Dec, Jan, Feb
4.  This is the first year
5.  If I come back here next year I will, and they are very nice
6.  Heck no!  I hear you can barely walk outside here in the summer!

We are true snowbirds

6.  No, we travel throughout the rest of the year or we camp with friends and family in Michigan!

I travel from Michigan to the Florida panhandle for January, February, and March - been doing this for about 10 years.  My husband still works, but uses vacation time to fly down for long weekends. I volunteer at ochlochonee river state park and have developed friendships with assorted people from various neighboring towns and within the park itself. It's a great spot and I have some of my Michigan friends visit me often. I won't move away from Michigan because our Michigan summers are perfect. But I'm too old for ice boating and ice fishing - or anything with ice or snow in its title.

If you are in the area, stop and visit me. I love company. It's a small, beautiful campground in a beautiful area. We're about 40 miles south of Tallahassee and about 8 miles from the gulf. Just ask for Janey at the ranger station. They know where I am.

1 - We travel from Venice, FL
2 - We travel to New Jersey with a lot of side trips on the way.
3 - We leave in May and Return in September.  (To hot in Florida)
4 - 10 years
5 - We have great friends in both areas. And in between.
6 - 2 Years ago we did a reversal, sold our NJ home and bought a home in Venice FL.  To us it's paradise, but hot in the summer.

We are "reverse snow birds" that need to excape the Texas heat in the summer.

5.  Yes.  Good group of regulars whose company we really enjoy

OOPS!!!! My college major was math...I always get Angle and Angel mixed up!  I guess I can be chagrined, shamed and vexed all a the same time!   Anyway...you know what I meanh.

travel from Wisconsin to Arizona... November 1st to April 31st.

1.  West Michigan
2.  Florida, Texas, Arizona
3.  Just after Thanksgiving until mid or late April
4.  Four years -- We have done Florida twice and Arizona (and other "out west" locations) twice -- headed to Texas, Arizona, California, and Nevada in 2018-2019.  Prefer the SW states by far--amazing hiking and sights. 
5.  We sometimes hook up with friends along the way, but find we like our independence to go and do what we want to do more.  Typically, we move around about every week or two.  We also enjoy the trip out and back as much as the time we spend at the destination.  The trip home can take 3 to 4 weeks.  Ah, retirement rocks! 
6.  Thinking of becoming reverse snowbirds--finding a warm and sunny late fall/winter/early spring base and traveling the remainder of the year. 

  Just joined Form so thought I would post. We snowbirded from 2003 - 2016 so thought I would share.
 
1, Fulltimers for 1st 6 years and then from Custer SD.
2. Apache Junction AZ (Shiprock RV Resort)
3. Usually departed late October and returned mid-April
4. How Long? - 13 years until 2016
5. Friends? - Yes, went to same park each year plus had other RV-Group friends locally including Escapees RV Club chapter members/luncheons.
6. We thought about relocating to a house there as a Plan B to RV-ing but decided to stay back home after all those years - got tired of too many pot-lucks, happy hours and "sitting around". Back home we feel more "worthwhile" doing volunteer work and community service. To be fair, there are always community opportunities when snowbirding if you look for them. We did Red Cross volunteer work for many years in Arizona as well as local fundraising. It is whatever you are led to do.

We're in central Indiana. We saw the leaves change color and saw our first snowfall. It's time to head for Sarasota for 4 months beginning 12/15. Third year. Same spot. Love most of our snowbird friends. Would not want to relocate to Florida. Too hot in the summertime!
