Thank you all.  Yes, Ron, I did talk about having phoenix build the platform...they certainly could have done it prettier, but ultimately decided I better do it myself because it had to fit the crates like a glove and I would have had to send or bring them up (and micromanage every detail, which I'm sure would have driven them crazy).  As Tom mentioned, I couldn't have them any higher without losing operation of the window and shades.  I also want to be able to sleep on top of the crates with a small mattress on the rare occasion I need a second bed.  The platform I built is only 7" high but I needed to clear the wheel well and I do use the flat underneath storage.  It is a 12" step up from the floor to the top of the dog mattress, and my elderly dog is struggling with that so it looks like I will have to build a 6" helper step for her that I can store underneath as well.

I also need the future versatility to completely change or rearrange if I want different crate sizes, a different number, or who knows what else I might think of.  The variety of crate configurations I have had in past years would make your head spin. Both the ClassA and the E350 van had at least three complete crate "remodels".  Also I expect if I should sell or trade at some point it will be simple for Phoenix to build more storage and install a dinette or couch or bed or whatever the future owner would require.

Hi all, new forum member here and first post, not an owner yet.

Any chance you could take an exterior full side view pic to see the difference between the shorter & longer wheelbase 2100? Your unit is beautiful, and you guys sure came up with some great ideas on that interior!

Welcome aboard!

I do not think model 2100 is offered with more than one wheel base.  Are you sure you don't mean model 2350 and the stretched version of it unofficially referred as model 2450?

Welcome "bobojay" (sorry did not see your real name anywhere in your post).  I don't know how to make a link to the exterior photos that I have already posted (can anyone tell me how to do that?), but if you look under "General" in the Main Forum page, then under "Introduce Yourself", you will find the photos on page 43.  I think that will give you an idea.
Yes it's true, the 2100 is standard on the 138" wheelbase.  I upgraded to the E-450 which was on the 158" wheelbase.  They would normally cut this to 138" for the 2100.  I asked them not to cut it to 138" because I needed the extra space in the living area.  If you look at the 2400, it is almost the identical floor plan as the 2100, built on the 164" wheelbase, so slightly longer than mine which is 22'10".

Believe it or not, It's Bob. Thanks for the info. I figured you upgraded to the 450. 23' is an excellent length for getting in & out of places  2o2

Yes, Bob, the wood is the "Hickory".  I wanted light colors to make the space look bigger, and I'm very happy with it.
