If you don't know what you are doing, you would be better off getting professional help, like at an RV dealer or Camping World. You would be dealing with both electric and LPG. Either can hurt you.

For question about your PC it would help if you filled out your profile. Knowing the year and model and if you have a slide helps with instructions.

Tips:  Unconfirmed tips.....just throwing this out to you because this is what I would try if doing it myself without sound advise.  BUT I would first call PC-USA and ask them what is involved.  They are very helpful in this regard providing general verbal instruction that can be extremely valuable.

Of coarse the first things to do would be to disconnect all batteries from the chassis and coach.  DON'T have the unit plugged into 110v.  Shut off the propane main valve at the tank.

I would then remove the fridge outside access panel and roof-top tent (or upper outside wall panel) and look for anything to disconnect.  Maybe the propane line connection and electrical connections can be found there along with disconnecting the propane exhaust vent.

Inside the motor home, remove all shelves, trays, and fridge doors.  Then unscrew the main fridge from the cabinetry, and gently pull it toward you.  Hopefully it will all come out without a hitch.

What's wrong with your fridge that has you wanting to remove it?  Maybe we can provide some tips to repair it.

  What's wrong with the fridge is Its a Norcold!  pyho!

I am putting a small house refrigerator in its place.

I will pull it out when I get back from my short trip this weekend,

I am sorry to hear you are not happy with the Norcold fridge.

Our 2007 model works great, surprisingly effective & efficient working on propane as well as 110V, and it meets the needs for the two of us perfectly.  I wonder why you are so disappointed to replace it with a standard 110V fridge.  Do you need more interior volume to hold more?  Or is yours not working right?  I could see it falling short for a big weekend party with family and such.  But then I'd supplement with a nice size cooler for those occasions.  If I remember right, some 2008s on up have a built-in cooler.  The slide-out storage bin has a drain hole to let out the melted ice.

Regardless....

Good luck with your project.  I would be curious to read what you learned.

We have a 2012 2551 with a Norcold  N621L.  I am not sure what model is in a 2007.  But here is a link to the service manual for the N62XX.  Page 25 list the steps necessary to remove the refrigerator.  If you have a different series search on line for the service manual and it may provide you with some insight.

Also, there are some you tube videos of people showing how to remove the Dometic refrigerators but I couldn't find any for removing a Norcold.  However, this link for a you tube video was pretty good.  The first 2 - 3 minutes show the removal of a Dometic but alot of it may apply to a Norcold as well.

We have a Norcold, and it works perfectly. The freezer stays on 0⁰ to 4⁰ all the time. Automatically switches from gas when travelling to electric when plugging in at a campsite. It’s made for an RV…  (nod)

Ron, on your 2007, is your fridge a 2 way or 3 way?  On my 2008  the fridge is a 3 way. AC/DC/LP.
It works great on all 3.

Ours is a 2-way
1) 110v
2) propane

I recall the 3-way was optional back then.  Our dealer talked us out of it.  He said for boon docking as is our general means, propane works great when parked and even when driving.  He was right in that it works extremely well under propane, using so very little too.  It also works great when using 110v.

The dealer also said that the fridge may have trouble maintaining "cold" under certain conditions when running off 12V.  Was he right?

Do you with 12V use it much?  I wondered if I missed out on something.

You only missed out on something, if you really needed it and after all these years my guess is you didn't need it.

Tom and Ron,
I have used it on DC only when the unit switched over during the time when we were having problems keeping the LP lit. We did have to replace the piezo.

Ron, your dealer tried to talk me out of it as well, but I went ahead and bought it as a backup.
Forgetting that I did order it as an extra, my wife just reminded about that .

Beyond the ignitor, the fridge has done the job.

I had a 3 way back in the late 1990s in my Chinook. When I set it to "auto" it would select electric, then house batteries and finally LPG. Bill is this how yours works? I could select any one manually. If I wanted to dry camp or I parked for the day I would have to remember to set it manually so it would not run the house batteries down. Then when I plugged in, I would have to set it back onto auto in order to not burn LP all night. I preffer the much simpler 2 way refers. Set it to auto and forget about it. I don't seem to burn that much LP most of the year. It seems like The furnace eats more LP in one night than the refer does all summer.

That has been my experience....well maybe sort-of.  I recall our first serious trip in our PC was for 3 weeks.  I never had a rig before with a propane fridge so I was shocked that the propane tank lasted until the last 12 hours of the vacation.  We ran out of propane that close to home.  And we had the fridge on propane for nearly the entire trip.  We did use the furnace for a couple over-nights, we cooked, had hot water at times, etc.  Ever since that first trip, I've been generous to use propane for the various comforts whenever we want, and will generally refill every 1.5-2 weeks, never getting close to empty.
