Trip Planning via PA Route

Trip Planning via PA Route

The time of year has come to begin my Back Road Trips for the year.  Shipshewana Indiana will be on the list and I'm thinking of running US 6 across Pennsylvania. Once we complete the beating on I 84 across Conn. and NY we'll exit at Milford, PA. to pick up US 6.

I have checked out the PA US 6 web site and I'm wondering if anyone has travelled this road.

I have been warned by my wife no more dirt roads. Off road motor home adventures are not for her..... pyho

Living just off Rt 6 exit 34 (1st west of the Milford exit), we've travelled Rt 6 many times. It's a smart decision because 84 in Potholevania is pretty bad in some sections. You may want to think of staying at the Promised Land campground. GradyGal can give you information about that.
If you decide to stay there, let us know when it'll be. If we're in town, we'll bring a bottle of wine to you for a short visit.

I will look up Amish  Sammy.  We will look forward to a Good buggy around the area...Now all I need to do is decide on campground in the area for two P C's.  I've checked out a few on RV Park review.

We liked Twin Mills Resort which is 40 miles east of Elkhart or about 20 miles east of Shipshewana http://www.twinmills.net/. We also stayed at Shipshewana North but you can hear the traffic on the interstate and it is a drive into town - unlike Shipshewana South... however, there is an Amish custard stand on site at the North campground so that makes up for a lot. We loved Potato Creek State Park but that is a trek from Shipshewana and it is difficult to get in on a weekend during the high season. If you hit Potato Creek, try to get into the renovated loops or plan on having an extra extension cord to reach the posts in the older loop. Your best spot all depends on what you plan to hit while you are there. If you plan to spend days enoying Shipshewana, then the south campground is the best location... and is very close to their giant flea market.
