UV protection for the RV roof

UV protection for the RV roof

Is it important to apply some type of UV protection to the roof? It seems to be made of material different from that on the rest of the body. I don't think it would be a good idea to apply wax up there. Maybe use 303 protectant? What do you do?

Bruce... yes I noticed that also. But whatever the material up there I don't think it would be a bad idea to protect it UV wise. My roof is 70% maybe covered with solar panels. So I wonder if I should be applying some protectant on them also. Another good question is 303 the only stuff out there with UV properties?

Denny, Thanks for your reply. I'm hoping that someone on this forum will tell us that the roof material has UV protection built in to it. Someone has likely asked Kermit about this.

The roof is a One-Piece Fiberglass Roof as stated in the pamphlets from PC. I'd be careful with what you use up there in case you need to work up on the roof it could become rather slippery if wet. With that being said, a good boat wax would protect it if needed.
