Owners of 2551, 2552 and question

I have on order a new 2552 with the rear bathroom. We are trying to figure out where the best places are to place the towel bars and the toilet paper holder.  We ordered ours without the mirrors on the bathroom closet doors, so this might be a place for the towel bars. Where did you place yours?

Also wondering if anyone put and kind of shelf/night stand near the beds.

What other mods should I consider on our new PC that you found useful?

Tom,
We put the toilet paper holder under the double closet in the bathroom; positioned it closer to the sliding door. We also put two hooks on the right wall (as you are looking out from the toilet); one above the other. That is where we hang our sleepshirts during the day. And of course everything is satin nickel to match the faucets.
We put the towel bar on the sliding door and 3 Command hooks in the shower to hang towels and a facecloth.
We also found a really nice looking paper towel holder (satin nickel of course) at Bed Bath and Beyond that we mounted under the cabinet over the sink in the bath. Helps to wipe up around the sink.
We'll check to see if we have pictures and send them along.

Wow!  Gradygal must have decorated my unit as well! 

We also have TP dispenser located on the inside of the undersink cabinet door, & 2 Command hooks on the sliding door are where we keep the towels.  We have a small, clip-on towel bar that slips over the top of the undersink cabinet door for a hand towel (another in the kitchen @ cutting board door for dish towel).  The shower has a suction cup mounted carry-all that has a couple of hooks for wash cloth, loufah (yes, I said loufah!) awa holding our shampoo/conditioner/body wash.

In the kitchen sink, we changed out the sprayer for a filtered water tap - filter mounted under the sink - directly across from coffee pot storage.

Replaced the plastic drawer rollers (3 of 4 were cracked already) under the bed (I don't think you have that in the newer model!) w/metal slide mounts.  DW found some neat, coated wire rack type shelving units of all different sizes for all the cabinets incl ouuside storage.

Tom,
   If you go to search and look for "2552 Mods/Improvements" under the author of gl1500, you will see all the changes we made including the pictures.  We located the toilet paper holder below the double doors of the closet, but not too close to the heater outlet.  We installed plastic folding towel holders in the shower.  Folded up when taking a shower, but a place for wet towels when shower not used.  Placed same type holder on the bathroom door for wash cloths.  All installed with stainless steel screws and sealant in the shower.

Our toilet paper holder is below the closet doors as well.

We also had PC install shelves in the hanging lockers by the twin beds. The double closet in the bath is more than enough hanging space for the two of us. We use the shelved locker next to the galley as a pantry and the other as a linen closet. We also had PC reverse the hinges for easiet entry.

We are really having a hard time sending photos. An error message comes back that the size is too large and when we reduce the size it is still too large. It's very frustrating!

If you import/open your pics in "Paint" and resize in  Image-resize/skew to 20-25%, then save, then upload the resized/saved image.  You can also check the final size product while in Paint IIRC.  I'm sure there are other, maybe/probably better ways for those challenged like me, but I have used that way in this forum before and it works.

Judi and George,

Is the toilet a Thetford China bowl model and if it is do you get full bowl flush coverage?  Just wondering because I notice the 2012 models have a china bowl and one option on the Thetford site is a spray nozzle to act as a water saver.  I was wondering if this is going to be a mod that we will have to make.

Thanks Gradygal for the pictures, they help a lot. The best part is that earlier today we went to home depot and bought towel bars and tp holder. The towel bars are the same as in your picture. We got the 18" size. What size is yours.

Now we are trying to figure out the sheets from two different companys. Amanda sent us to bedderbedding.net and this forum sent us to ABLifestyles.net. We are looking for custom sheets to fit thses new beds. Can anyone help us here?

Our 2552 was the first one as we wanted an extra automotive type seat to carry our Granddaughter.  Stewart suggested the addition and Kermit came up with the structural modification to lengthen the floor, roof and side walls. Not an easy task.  But, apparently has become a favorite as we switched from a 2350 which was only a few months old.
     We have the China bowel toilet and find the flush is lacking in covering the entire bowel.  A sprayer may be a happy addition and I am thinking about installing one.  We did order our unit with a stronger and higher volume pump, but does not seem to help.

We have the china bowl and really don't think it's a problem. I guess a sprayer would be nice but not really high on my list of improvements.

We are using regular twin bed sheets on the bed. We secure them with these elastic things that tighten the sheets up. It works! Custom would be great but being the frugal (cheap) folks that we are, we didn't want to spend the $$$ for custom sheets. Would rather spend it on some good bottles of merlot.

Take a look at the 2551 that Aimee has listed. There are some good ideas on that rig.
