New Service Coming Soon: Used PC Classifieds
« on: July 08, 2011, 11:53:51 am »
I'm very excited!  I had what I think is a great idea, and I've talked Stuart et al into it.

I'm still hammering out the details, but I can share with you guys a few of the details I have so far. I think it's going to be very helpful for PC Owners looking to sell.

The basic details:
The cost will be $50 to run till sold. There will be no "Final Fee" or "Sold Fee" or any of that nonsense.
I'll create a new forum board for "For Sale By Owner" listings.
Owners looking to sell will send me 4 photos (2 inside, 2 outside); VIN#; Mileage; Other info; and whether they want to be contacted directly or through the forum.
All ads will be posted by me. All fees will be remitted to me, and will benefit my "Feed Aimée's  Kids" campaign.  ;)
I will let people visiting the website know that we have For Sale By Owner listings available in the forum.
I'll also make sure the listings are done in a way that will allow Google and other search engines to index them, making the units easier to find.

In addition to that, I've talked Stuart into doing the following:
If your buyer needs trade-in assistance, Stuart will put in an offer for buying their trade outright.
If your buyer needs financing, Phoenix will do what they can to help with that.
Allow me to run your ad on the forum here until it's sold, or you ask to have it pulled down.

More details coming soon, but I wanted to share with you guys what I've worked out so far.  (cheer)

Great idea. Allows one to maximize value before buying another PC.  Are you or will you be using Paypal to transfer the fees?

L.G., I will probably use Google Checkout to transfer the $50 listing fee, or I'm not afraid of an old-fashioned check from a PC owner.  That's the good thing about it being used PC's only.  It's more like dealing with a family.

Billy, I'm thrilled that you have plenty of time ahead of you in your PC.  Someone e-mailed me a good question about this.  They wanted to know if it's only open to people who are selling their PC to buy another PC, and the answer is no.

I just had this idea that would benefit current PC owners, and those looking to buy used, and Stuart didn't really put any limitations on it that I didn't already want to put on there.

Great, I have talked with people who like the PC but don't want to spend too much to get started.

I think the "For Sale By Owner" is a very attractive feature for all three parties, the company, current owners, and prospective owners.  It would make it very easy for someone like me to direct people to both new and used PCs.  Some will rule out a new one due to the expense, but others will start looking at used ones, and steer toward a new one.

I love the idea.

For PC owners, it would make for a little extra assurance as a tool for a bail-out if times got harder for them.

Great idea Aimee. We may be using it, as we are seriously considering full-timing if we sell our house. We love our PC and have done many upgrades, but we'd need something a bit bigger for that lifestyle.  Wish PC made a 32-34' with the storage of an "A". Maybe someday!!

Ask Kermit, the owner of Phoenix USA.  You never know.  That is how many new models get introduced.

Maybe they could add a few extra feet on the back of anotherwise ideal floor plan.  That space could be made into a pair of outdoor closets, one door on each side of the rig so they can retain the stock rear wall cap with spare tire & storage.  Have a pass-thru basement in the lower most area.  The side doors could be the same as the main entry door.  Just no window in them.  It seems a minimal design impact from the factory's prespective.  That would provide "MASSIVE" bulk storage with good security, good seal & insulation.

A minor alternate plan would be to divide the storage between outside and inside.  Isolate the two areas with an insulated wall, or keep it all one massive storage closet.  One main outside access door, one basement access door on the opposing side, and one inside closet door.

Doing that to a shorter E450 model like the 2552 or a 2700, would keep the over-all GVWR with a safer weight margin to avoid excessive over-loading.

Just a thought.
