Microwave Exhaust

I was wondering how bees were getting in my 2552 when I noticed they seemed to be flying into the microwave vent. Upon removing the vent I noticed a few things. First no damper. Second no duct from microwave to roof. Third the screen has 3/8” openings that allowed bees in. Not only inside the vent but above the ceiling. There is two inches between the top of the microwave and the roof. I decided that the size of the vent used was plenty big for me to use finer screen to keep the bugs out. Then I fabricated a duct that directed the air from the exhaust to the outside. I haven’t come up with a damper design yet but at least the vent isn’t letting bugs in not to mention a lot of air infiltration from outside. Hope this helps keep things in there place.
