I chose a super light model folding e-bike so putting two inside the PC for safekeeping while away would be easier to manage.  Then with the  forecast calling for rain I went shopping for a weatherproof bicycle cover for transporting them on a hitch mounted  carrier, but a local bike shop guy suggested just  carrying them inside instead. Why not, since DW  agreed  to give that a try.

I place our Qualisports Dolphins  in 34”x17” plastic bins so they can’t roll around or tip over (that also works great in a SUV). One goes on the floor by the galley, with enough vertical clearance to fully open the refrigerator door. The other goes on the sofa, secured by the seatbelts.

At the campsite with  the bikes chained up outside, the stacked bins are stored on  the  front seats and used for organizing, and  do triple duty as a footrest while watching tv. Now I suspect I’ll be leaving the heavy Thule bike carrier at home most of the time.
