Full body paint

Hi ya’all.  LOL. How do I know if my rig has full body paint? The paint transition from white to Sterling has what appears to be an “edge” just like the decals; however, I do see sterling color paint around the exterior furnace cover and other places.  I tried to pick off an area in an inconspicuous area to see if it was a decal, but no luck.

Your PC has "Partial Body Paint".  Most PCs do.  It costs roughly 25% that of "Full Body Paint".  There are a few PCs with "No Body Paint" with only swirly decals and words.  Those were generally special ordered.

I have MSRP data for PCs and options only for 2007/2008 model years.  PCs were being sold back then for 20%-23% below MSRP.

$0000.00 "No Body Paint", swirling decals and wording were included.
$1372.00 "Partial Body Paint", swirling decals and wording.
$6020.00 "Full Body Paint", painted swirling but the wording remained decals.

Here is our 2007 2350 with "Full Body Paint".  Only the words PHOENIX CRUISER and PHOENIX CRUISER.COM are decals.  Everything else is painted.  I don't know how it is done or priced since 2008.  We paid 23% below MSRP so our FBP cost us $4635.40.

Ok cool. Then the lower half, less the decals and wording is painted.  The white must just be gel-coat then.  Thanks again Ron.  Wealth of knowledge.

Unless someone special-ordered it painted, the white is gel coated.

In response and survival through the recession of 2008/2009, Phoenix USA dropped their dealer network and went with a factory-direct strategy.  Doing so provided opportunity for custom requests.  The owner Kermit back then, accommodated such deviations with reasonable up-charges or "at cost" pending the impact to the project.  This inspired people to make special requests with the PC specifically made for them.  Phoenix built extra units as time permitted having them parked outside being sold factory-direct and ready to go for people who wanted a new PC right away.  Phoenix also offered shipping anywhere in the continental USA which helped with nation wide sales.  Kermit's son was most often the person who drove your new PC to your home.  If you had a trade-in, he would drive it back to Phoenix USA.

That marketing strategy worked well for many years because the owner Kermit continued with that business model for long after the recession.
