Temp sensor and Auto Gen Start
« on: June 24, 2021, 04:28:59 pm »
Traveling with our pets next week.   Looking for advice on:
1) simple / easy inside thermometer that it internet enabled to monitor temps

2) simple suggestions on how to test the auto gen start settings are working properly.  The manual is not so easy.

2021 3100 so brand new.

And you CAN IGNORE the below about the generator auto-start.  I see Phoenix now offers the EC-30 generator that has that feature.

II am unaware of any auto start facility or settings for the generator.  In fact, that could be dangerous in case you had a window open or roof vent drawing in outside air.

I am wondering, do you mean auto start air conditioner?   Where you set the thermostat to a temperature for cooling (or heating) and it cycles on/off as needed Iike your home thermostat?

Just about any thermometer that you can connect to a home WiFi system should work.  You, of course, need a WiFi internet connection where you are parked.

I did a search on Amazon for "internet connected thermometer" and they listed quite a few.   No idea how any of them work as I don't have one for the RV.

I use the Govee thermometer, it works great and that way I can keep an eye on the temp in the coach as we sometimes leave our dog. I installed the EC-30 system for my generator not sure what you are having issues with. Seems pretty straight forward.  I will tell you that if you are using it be sure that you start your generator and ensure its ready to run before you count on the auto start to work. If I am going to use mine I start it before I leave make sure its ready to go shut it down and activate the auto start feature.

Thanks.  Got the Govee and it works great.   Now I can also get all stressed out too when my unit is in storage and it’s 100 degrees inside.
