Propane odor
« on: May 06, 2021, 05:46:11 pm »
As we set up for a couple of days & sat around enjoying the viewd we get a periodical hint of propane. Not constant, but ocassionally. Not using the stove or furnace, & fridge is running on shore power. I turned off the tank. But still get wiff now & again. Sniffed alround the Cruiser and could not pin point any source.
Any thoughts?
Think I could run the fridge on it on the trip home. (Got a freezer full of Louisiana shrimp frozen).
thanks
Jack is what we call our PC 2351D, and he has taken us from campers to RV'ers and loving it. We're no longer Team Bob. Just Jack the RV!

I have an old 2006, and had the same complaint since I got it. Never really smell it inside, but outside. I had 'nose diagnosed' it to the furnace, and capped off the supply line to it. STILL got whiffs...sometimes..

After installing my Sturgistay,  when  I went around and sprayed with soapy water, I found SEVERAL loose joints in the 'hard pipe' that bubbled.  :beg  I bet they had been like that since new. I tightened them all up, and NO MORE SMELL!  Not to mention my propane lasts SO much longer now.

Crawling around with some dawn and water in a spray bottle might provide some insight, or peace of mind.

Let that be a warning to us all.....especially to us who store our PC under our bedroom.

Admittedly we don't have propane odors, but if we ever develop any, I know what to do thanks to you.
