Executive DVD System
« on: June 19, 2020, 11:41:03 pm »
I'm sure there are a few older units with the older surround sound DVD system that have been replaced.   I did a search and couldn't really find the answer to the mfg and model of the newer units that replaced the vintage dvd systems.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Bob

We still have the Executive system in our 2007 model year.  I wanted to up grade to a more user friendly Blu-Ray system, but I never researched it deep enough.  So I am curious too.

The one in our 2015 is a Samsung.  Pretty sure it is a Blu-ray.  It also has Netflix on it, but not WiFi... So I had to buy a wifi adapter for it.

Don,  Thanks for the info.  Do you happen to know what model Samsung?  I also assume (bad word to use) that it works with your surround sound system.

Thanks, Bob

Following!  Our theater system came DOA, and I could never find a good replacement to fit in the hole.

What's almost as bad as an old receiver, is the newer TV's don't come with audio output.  I am trying to upgrade my Westinghouse 19" to something that will fit AND connect to my obsolete Executive system.  I will have to go to at least a 32" I believe to get the output I want.

I *believe* it's an HT-F4500 model but not positive.   And my PC is currently in a shop getting treatment for its run-in from 2"+ sized hailstone assaulting her up in South Dakota a couple of weeks ago.

And.. It IS the surround sound system, the surround speakers hook up to the Samsung

Our 2007 Executive head unit with DVD also has FM radio, but if my memory is correct, it does not have AM radio.  Though the unit still works well, it would be nice to have a Blu-Ray unit with AM/FM and a nice user friendly display and interface, in a plug-n-play replacement that fits in the same cubby hole.

As I recall, one of the inconveniences with our 2007 Executive unit is that it does not remember my settings after 110V power is cut off.  But that is asking a lot in any such unit, maybe requiring a serviceable memory battery.  The same inconvenience applies to our 2007 26" Samsung TV.  Every time I turn them on, they behave like they are brand new, like I just pulled them out of the box.  That's life in an RV.
