Marketing?
« on: June 19, 2020, 05:56:23 pm »
I saw that La Mesa RV in Phoenix is a proud new PC dealer.
If this:

https://www.rvtrader.com/listing/2021-Phoenix+Usa+Rv-PHOENIX+CRUISER+2552-5012923116?zmc=search-alert-listing

is La Mesa's idea of Marketing, PC is in trouble. Could they have made less effort??? pyho

It appears the dealership is giving a "head's-up" that they will soon be selling PCs.  I don't see anything wrong with that.

I did find it interesting that they state a 2021 model year PC-2552 with a V10 engine.  That means the chassis year is 2 years behind the PC year.  Am I correct on that?

I don't like it when the chassis is one year behind, let alone 2 or more years behind.  My first motor home had a 1983 chassis under a 1984 RV.  Though it was never an issue, I never cared for it.

Ron

Ford still offered the V-10 in their 2020 model year E-450 cutaway.

The 2021 model cutaway uses the 7.3L V8 instead of the V10.

Don, any idea which variation of the New Godzilla engine they are using in the cut away? I’m hoping they don’t use the Econo version. If the day comes I buy another MH I won’t bother with the ESeries if it has the econo engine. I understand there is some cost savings in the purchase which I can see builders opting for and keeping the savings but I wouldn’t be interested.

Ford's site says the Premium 350HP is the standard engine.   But it also shows the 300HP economy engine is available so guess it depends on what the RV manufacturer orders.

Don, yes and it says the econo is cheaper so I’m guessing that’s what they will order.  Of course I wouldn’t expect the cost savings to be passed on.  I suppose you could order it with the premium and for those that buy new that’s an option. I prefer to buy units 3-4 years old so I may be out of luck unless I purchased a class c on the F series.  I guess time will tell

Y'all missed the point...and went off on some non-issue. They post a non-ad with no correct information, they even say the 2552 is 25' length, that's how much they know.  Why bother?

I get email notifications when RV Trader has a new PC for sale Ad. I hate to waste my time when a Dealer posts a new listing with no info. I won't know when they have a price or pics because it is no longer a new listing. They are bozos in my book. Like a realtor that describes "nice house."

Sorry I brought it up. :)(:

It’s a multi manufacturer dealer right, I’d expect this to be the case.

Every brick and mortar RV dealership I ever visited, offered more than one brand.

Ron, yup and the more brands the less they know about diff models or promote . No need, people will come to look simply because they have the selection. Another example is motorcycles. Years back when I rode and went to the Harley dealers every salesmen knew every spec on every model. The mega dealers that sold Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha etc and water craft to boot you were lucky if they knew what brands they carried let alone any real details. I expect this and do my own research before I go look and being I don’t buy new from there I go on my search .
