Question: How to fix House Batteries Drawer ??

Hello, has anyone had experience with fixing or replacing the sliding drawer for the house batteries on their Phoenix Cruiser?  I have a 2013 2910D and I took it to get new house batteries and when the technician slid my battery drawer out it fell on the ground and the arms and all just fell apart.  It appears the brackets that the drawer slides fit into have gotten too wide maybe from road vibration or something and the drawer slides or so loose in the brackets they will barely stay in.  The drawer slides themselves did not look in good shape either.  Is this something I can order and replace?  Thanks for any suggestions or advice!

I would call Phoenix and order a new drawer with glides from them.

You may also be able to order directly from their supplier who makes the drawer.  There is a label on the front.  But working with Phoenix might be your better bet.

If you want to rebuild the drawer, you can buy heavy duty full extension drawer glides from home improvement centers for around $12 a pair.

Based on your description of what occurred, it sounds like corrosion caused by the battery compromised the whole thing, and if so, would suggest the tray, slider, rails and rollers (essentially, the whole thing) be replaced.

I would check with Carol at Phoenix, she can tell you if they can send you a new one (and the cost) or at least the brand and model of the tray they originally installed.

Go to Home depot and pick out a set of drawer slides in the cabinet aisle.  If yours is like mine, you'll find some that are identical to what was on your battery drawer, for about $15.

Blue blaze is spot on. Pay attention to weight ratings of the slides you buy. 

My battery tray slides are shot. I checked out the slides at Home Depot. They have a 100lb rating which is not enough in my opinion. I ordered a set of 14” on amazon with a 250lb limit for 30 dollars. I had to drill a couple holes but what a difference in function. It slides in with the push of two fingers and there is NO sag when it’s extended.
